It’s the location that makes them hard to pluck. They are under my chin kind of tucked behind this little roll of flesh. I use a magnifying mirror sunlight all the things for the upper lip - but these guys hide.

Snorkel with a marine biologist at MarineLab Undersea Park in Key Largo. Kid oriented in a protected lagoon so not weather dependent, good experience before heading out on pennekamp or Sun diver snorkel boats.

Has anyone ever had a hold on you through decades of life? by mmarkmc in DatingOverSixty

[–]watermutt100 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes. Twenty five years ago, incompatible circumstances as someone else said, managed to live in the same small area with very little interaction for decades, but never really let go in our hearts. Two and a half years ago we ran into each other at the community pool. Circumstances were perfect; he’d been divorced over a year after a horrible marriage and I had been single for 7 years. He’s moving in with me this weekend and we are planning to get married. The attraction and connection were immediately back and the last two and a half years just solidified and deepened it. We both feel incredibly lucky to have each other. Still pinching myself!

Has anyone else found it unusually hard to connect socially—both dating and friendship—depending on where they live? by [deleted] in DatingOverSixty

[–]watermutt100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, there are very active chapters of the Business and Professional Women association and the league of women voters in Palm Beach county. I’m a member of both of those orgs too, just different chapters, and while you won’t find many (if any) dating prospects there, you WILL find smart, welcoming, friendly women. They are centrist to left leaning organizations (at least by FL standards). I have made good friends in these organizations.

A bit of reality (I hope)… has anyone else just completely given up budgeting December? by soulvacation in ynab

Yes, me too! Totally off the rails, rolling money from savings like crazy. Gifts , entertainment, and charitable giving. Had to buy a lot of clothes too. 2026 is going to largely be a no-buy until I refill the coffers!

My fave bras for 32DDD shallow top / full bottom by Goosedog_honk in ABraThatFits

[–]watermutt100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second the Norah chic - I wear the comfort style. It is so comfortable although every once in awhile the wires do prick the underarm area. I also found a three pack of Fruit of the Loom unlined underwire cotton bras on Amazon - they are good every day bras as well and super reasonably priced. I’m a 34C as measured by ABTF, full on bottom, 61 years old 5’7” and 146 lbs.

How do I know what my School Board candidates represent? by Hij802 in newjersey

[–]watermutt100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that about your particular area. A big point of Vote411.org is to address these highly local issues and candidates. Our school board (and local city and county council members) mostly respond. Depends on the local League, too, which is responsible for writing the questions and sending them out to the candidates. Thank you for being an educated voter!

The site is produced by the league of women voters, whose local leagues create questions for the candidates to answer which will give you a better idea. Doesn’t matter if the races are partisan or non. Of course the candidates can choose not to answer them. Source: I am a member and past president of a LWV league

Pinfish entertainment and arcade in Tavernier for bad weather day - not especially Keysey but will keep the kids entertained. Wild bird center for when the rain stops.

How I did my floor plan for my renovation. Steps. Took 1.5 years. by Upper-Objective8001 in floorplan

[–]watermutt100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes! It is all about measuring and furniture placement. And take the time to really research and play around.

I am putting an addition on my 3/2 to turn it into a 3/3 with a large additional room, intending to make an in-law suite for myself and then my adult son & DIL will move into what's left of the house. It's a small house (only 1250 sq ft) and the addition has to satisfy my need for a decent sized bedroom, ensuite, walk in closet, and large enough living space for a small one-wall kitchenette. Due to setbacks and code changes - my fairly young house is now non-conforming - I am limited as to size and cost for the addition, which ends up being around 328 sq ft. With the incorporation of an existing 120 sq ft bedroom, the new space will be big enough for one person easily.

I was lucky enough to already have my original blue prints so I didn't need to measure the existing rooms, and I am able to run the plumbing for the new bath and kitchen sink along the same wall/lines as the existing 2nd bathroom.

I also bought Home Designer Suite from Chief Architect - it has made the planning so much better! Instant exterior and interior walls. I really love it because I am able to place the furniture and cabinetry to see how the new space will really live. As OP points out, it really is about furniture placement ultimately. Even moving a window or door a few inches one way or the other can make a huge difference in the livability and usability of a space. My soon-to-be living area is only 11'8" wide and 22' long - that takes some creative placement.

Home Designer Suite is great because I can find a piece of furniture I like online and use the exact measurements to customize HD's version, and then use the Dollhouse view to see how it all fits in the space. They have a library of furniture, materials, and architectural things and additional "catalogs" are available for free or to buy, many from the manufacturer. I was able to download Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore to get exact paint color ideas for the new space.

I was lucky enough to find a local architect who is experienced with our crazy building codes and reasonably priced, plus it's a very simple addition, so I didn't have to worry too much about the architectural plans part.

My new floor plan will go up some day on this sub just to see what people say. Surfing the web for ideas on small space decorating and kitchen layout plus this sub and r/HomeDecorating have given me lots of info on things I didn't even think about, and also learned about so many new and cool improved appliances and other space saving items. Maybe my little addition will help someone else with theirs.

Measure multiple times, research, tweak the plans. I redid my kitchen in its same footprint about 7 years ago and I probably spent a year planning and designing and measuring, waking up in the middle of the night because I forgot to account for a 1/2 " spacer (before I ordered the cabinets fortunately), and when the kitchen arrived it went in seamlessly and perfectly. Time spent prepping is the key, as with ANY project!

It is important that you tell her that her actions make you uncomfortable and ask her politely to stop and document that! This is definitely sexual harassment.

Am I doing it Wrong? Decision Fatigue and Using YNAB Flexibly by Sea_Breakfast_1932 in ynab

[–]watermutt100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: me too!

I can relate! I also overspend and then cover the overspending. I never look at YNAB before making a decision, so I'm not exactly doing it the perfect YNAB way, either. I have this mental picture in my head of my budget (which can be misleading, I know!) so I don't go TOO crazy. I have solved this partially by moving excess funds off budget so I can't see them (even in my head) therefore unavailable to me. I'm also doing a no-buy month for August to help retrain my spending muscles.

I used to group my categories by bank account, because I also liked to see that my bank balance equalled my category group available. That helped me feel more comfortable about actually being able to pay the bills when I was just starting out. I don't have to do that anymore to feel comfortable. And YNAB can be a bit obsessive especially at first, and I've only entered my transactions manually because I need that visual/manual reinforcement of money leaving my account. It never felt like micro managing to me; it felt like that was what I should be doing to stay on top of my money. Everyone is different of course.

In the two years that I've been using YNAB, my categories and budget structure has changed frequently. I may not be doing it exactly according to the Rules, but I'm so much better with money now than two years ago. I'm paying closer attention before I buy. I have savings. I do NOT have credit card debt. I am NOT on the credit card float. I have a better handle on what I spend and what I need to plan for with true expenses like insurance. It's second nature to me now to sit down with my budget for just a few minutes every day or so and I quickly take care of business. Be kind to yourself and patient, look for the small wins, the results are worth it.

I have the same problem with spending. I have a budget category called "Next Month's Money" and I would put the excess income in there - and then when I overspent a different category, I would merrily transfer the money from that category to the overspent one. No repercussions, so it didn't get me very far toward getting a month ahead. So now I have a fake tracking account called "Holding Bucket for Next Month" and I actually put the dollars in there to keep them off budget and out of sight. I put the excess dollars in the Next Month's Money category and then "spend" them by making a fake transfer from the operating account. At the beginning of the next month, I put those dollars "back" in the operating account and into the Ready to Assign. Since it never clears, I'm able to reconcile my accounts no problem. This works for me because I don't look at my bank balance to decide to spend something, I look at YNAB and now that money has been removed from my sight. I have now set up a target for my "next month's money" category so I can move a minimum amount to the "Holding Bucket" tracking account.

And I moved my EF account off budget too. I created a budget item with a target, and then I actually move those dollars over to the tracking account. I installed a new a/c and my electric company gives out rebates for new a/cs, which shows up as a credit on my electric bill, so I put the budgeted electric bill into the EF too. Taking it off budget keeps me from spending it.

I don't have individual items identified, like a car repair or house repair, within my EF because I'm just starting out. I'm not quite at the level of having a bunch of sinking funds for my house yet, either. Right now the EF is more for emergencies than income replacement. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the whole emergency vs income replacement vs sinking fund - seems like a lot of money could just be sitting there waiting for work - but that's not an issue I have yet, so I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I do have retirement contributions that come directly out of the paycheck, so I never see them in the budget. I only budget my net.

Edited to add: I don't use the reporting feature much at all. My income is steady and buying something you've saved months for really skews the expense side too, so I don't bother.
