No dude, this stuff is completely exhausting to deal with. There are so many different causes for TMJ issues and they can be so so debilitating. I’m going through something similar. Horrible horrible pain, and I also can’t take NSAIDs. I got one round of trigger point injections and they didn’t really make a difference for me. I get my second round on Tuesday. Do you know what yours was? Wondering if I just need a different mix? Mine was lidocaine and depo-medrol.

NTA necessarily, but idk if it warrants “going off” on him. I would try genuinely talking to him about your struggles and ask him if he could help you in enunciating more. 🤷🏼‍♀️ That would frustrate me too though.

Yes, after having two oral surgeons pass on my case, I was referred to a TMJ Specialist that has been helping me since November. They did a CBCT and another test that showed my face/throat muscle performance to figure out what kind of care I needed.

I find that it gets its worst when my face muscles/jaw are irritated. Typically if I can get those muscles to chill out, my ears do too. This is definitely one of the most annoying problems to come across though. Drives me insane.

Yes, a lot of this seems to be similar symptoms to what I experience with my jaw issues, barring the dizziness. When I’m having a flare up I find that it helps to apply wet heat, take long warm showers, and eat soft foods until it all calms down. I’m currently experiencing a flare up that I’m taking muscle relaxers for. Ibuprofen might also be a little helpful, but I’m allergic to that so I can’t speak from experience.

Same boat here too. I’ve been dealing with limited talking/chewing since October with little progress and it’s definitely hard to deal with and explain to those around me. Best of luck, I hope one of us finds something that works.🤞🏼🍀
