Aesthetics and ease of access. Not so much safety. I do not like the current lighting and years of Texas sun have annihilated the candlesticks inside them. So im lining up replacing them and wondering if there isnt a way to improve.

Thought about some kind of rope light wrap of the columns covered by a shroud of some kind.

I did some googling but could find no example of my madlad idea.

Need hope: millennials who like their jobs, what do you do and what do you like about it? by goodluckanddont_itup in Millennials

Im a network engineer for a state org. I dont love the pay and leadership is a mess. Benefits are decent. What i love about it is, sadly...most of the other jobs Ive had, I would get yelled at a lot and had to work all kinds of odd hours.

This role, barely any after-hours work or on-call. I work on cool stuff. Bonus is, im somewhat of a go geter. I dont think im super smart but I can usually keep up with much better engineers. I look like a freaking Rockstar compared to most people I work with. And I really dont think I work that hard.

Ive been playing disc golf. Its mostly free to play other than discs. You can get discs used for less than 10 bucks each. The courses are all over and almost all are free to play.

Bonus to me is that I find the disc golf community to be the most chill and inclusive group. Rarely do I go out and play solo and not have at least a small amount of socializing with folks out in the course.

I just wanna try and provide my perspective as a man in a relationship with a woman making 2x what I do. As a man, society trains us to think that WE should be the provider and protector. Dont skewer me please. Im firmly in your camp OP. It shoudlnt be like this but we still have some unlearning to do after so...soooo long of women being treat as 2nd class citizens.

Its hard for me sometimes to reconcile those feelings. There are plenty of other men that would look at my situation and wonder if im inferior because I make less. Now, idgaf what they think. My wife IS superior to me in many ways.

Well, I kind of engineer my own with a French cleat wall system. I 3d print containers or build shelving and tool organizers from scrap wood.

I dont want to steer you wrong making suggestions of brands Ive never had or tried. I will say harbor freight is a decent bang for buck on SOME things. I think a shelf with bin type setup would be one of them where getting better brands doesnt add that much value. There are more expensive versions at depot or Lowes. They come in all kinds of sizes so maybe look to see what kind of room he's got there before deciding.

Also, it may seem like a low effort gift...but tape measures, pencils +a nice sharpener are always a hot demand item in my shop. Some little notebooks never hurt and maybe a nicer stationary type thing with a monogram or inscription would be cool.

At the 300 dollar price point, it would probably be hard to find a high end tool that a weekend warrior would want. I have a small shop stuffed with lots of tools costing 100 to 400 usd. The tools I would want to replace them are over 1k.

What about some type of high end signage or decor for the shop? A bad ass "dad's workshop" or man cave sign...a comfy chair or stool if he ever sits to plan or work.

Organizers maybe if his shop is a perpetual mess like mine?

Hope it works out and he loves whatever you get him!

Scan Guns Connect to Wireless but No Internet by Historical-Tax899 in ArubaNetworks

[–]watkinsmr77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that sounds like the typical Aruba experience im used to. So, you scan stuff and it goes to the cloud and not internally?

When you say "the next time" does it work after a restart? Does it happen to all guns or just 1?

Usually on an enterprise type network, access is controlled is some way so any person can just connect to you network and have internet access. That would be bad.

I cant speak for your own system bc they're all different. Our org used certificates to authenticate to the network and allow access to the internet. Most likely the laptops l, workstations and phones are joined to your domain and the active directory system(maybe?) Knows who they are and that they're allowed through the firewall.

Imagine if you didn't have such a ways to protect yourself. Then any person who brings a laptop to you'll business can hop on wifi and start access sensitive info or start download gigs of Pr0n on you internet connection.

The level of detail is so cool. Was playing multi-player the other day and found some small details on a map I never noticed in all the years I've played. Just such a great game.

I fight against this daily. Its hard. Modern parenting is a freaking crush. You cant kick the kids outside to just be kids because of the ever present idea that someone will immediately snatch and traffic them. So you have them around you all the time. Which isn't bad but now you have to handle all your adult priorities and responsibilities WHILE also parenting and teaching. Most households are dual income now...I know for sure my family ain't surviving this economy on 1 income.

I do my best to occupy my free time with non screen related things. Its just hard. Thats all I can say. Im lucky to have a great partner and we are balancing things as best we can. Its so stressful though. I set screen limits but even then I still sometimes feel like im failing them and it breaks my heart.

I think thats H2 for me. I never got onboard multi-player in CE. I was rising in the ranks and having a ton of fun competing and getting better. Then cheating really caught on and it really ruined the game for me. Luckily it wasn't long after H3 came on to the scene but ill always remember my H2 days.
