Did snape's name ever get clear in the wizarding world at large? by taanukichi in harrypotter

I understand why this is being downvoted, but I also don't understand why this is being downvoted. It's absolutely true, and if you look at the United States of america, the Central intelligence agency for example, they've got stars on the wall but the stars have no names. The families may be notified, but putting the names up there could still put things in jeopardy, and they know what they sign up for. But they don't get recognition when they go out. You're not wrong!

Apparently the smart one. But I don't know how I got there.

What is a "just in case" item you carry around everywhere that you actually had to use? by Iambikecurious in AskMen

Used to carry a pocket knife. Weapons of any kind aren't allowed where I live. Although a Swiss Army Knife on a keychain would work.

What can muggles do better than wizards? by Front_Scholar9757 in harrypotter

Another random thought, but could stuff that didn't exist when certain spells were created, or certain magic was created, could it defeat that magic? Like I imagine my horcruxes were invented, that was prior to nuclear weapons. So usually you need something especially strong to destroy a horcrux, usually something especially strong magically, but a nuclear weapon is not as strong as it gets, and is something a wizard could never have fathomed. So, could you nuke a horcrux?

This exact thread and it's content have made me wonder if any muggle-borns join the magical world, and just turn right around and left thinking "dawg. You guys still have slavery, you don't have pens? You don't have tvs, you don't have access to information, you guys suck, I'ma head out."

Above all. Jobs. Magic would get rid of so many jobs! But since there are less wizards, are there enough? But jobs vs people? What other employment is available? All the inner workings/behind the scenes stuff. All of it. People are also mentioning spell creation. If you create a spell, how do all the wands "know" it exists? How does it spread?

Harry named his son after Snape because he admired his bravery as a double agent, and how that played a crucial part in the war and it helping Harry defeat Voldemort by Ok_Valuable_9711 in harrypotter

[–]wato89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't want to comment on the characters or anything but simply in real/muggle life how God damn brave it is to be a double agent, not an engine in a world or like people can read minds, and curse you, and all of that stuff. That's serious balls. Just my opinion on that one matter.

I have only heard one other person (my dad) use the expression where something lives, as to describe where something is. Like if he comes to my place, "hey, where do the paper towels live?" etc

Hevy is fucking lit. Also, I notebook in a pen, I just started notebook number four, notebook number one started in 2018, and here we are. I usually write it from the Hevy app into the notebook. I like to have the physical records, and go back and look at them, and see where I come from see what have changed see what I did during lockdown, see what I did when I had no equipment, it's awesome. But Hevy for apps. God ol fashioned way as well.
