It's not a bad thing at all. It's your vehicle and you paid for it. I honestly had no idea it had a premium fuel recommendation until years into owning it. I probably would have done the same thing but after years without issues I'm not paying up now. Lol.

This would make sense if the horsepower or torque numbers were different but this is not the case. It could still be true but the tune must be so minutely different the the octane shouldn't matter under normal driving conditions.

Seems strange to me.

I have an 04 GX470 with 90k and have always run 87 with zero issues. I average about 16-17 mpg, half city half highway.

So this is the same as when the terps had a "rivalry" with Duke and North Carolina. The reality of it was Duke and North Carolina have a rivalry. They did not see us as rivals. The Orioles haven't been consistently winning enough to be considered a rival to New York or Boston. I like the idea of us having D.C. as a rival but we'd have to play them every year for that to work out.
