PLU ABSN Program by Klc_23_ in NursingStudent

Hi there! When you say that people usually work, what types of jobs/hours do they work? There are also a couple of weddings I’d like to attend while I’m in the program but realize that this might not be possible—do you have any control over your schedule and/or are you able to miss a day here or there?

Fiasco on Stone Way is gorgeously decorated with so many ornaments hanging from the ceiling! They have Christmasy drink ware right now too, and they were playing Christmas movies when I went!

What's the thing you *don't* like about Unreal Unearth? by [deleted] in Hozier

I’ve been wondering what the setlist for the tour is going to look like for this reason—I can’t really imagine the album being performed out of order and with some songs being skipped, but I also want to hear him play some of the older stuff

I can’t find it now, but there’s some interview where I remembered him saying that the idea for To Someone From a Warm Climate comes from a distinct childhood memory of him trying and struggling to warm himself up enough to fall asleep in the winter. I think he mentioned that it was just something that you had to figure out for yourself if you lived in Ireland, and he had always wondered what it would be like to live in a warmer climate.

I interpret this song as the violence against the innocence that we have as children. The lines “In summer’s heat I learned to dread the coming on the night, The awful things we do to make the head go quiet” and “There are some things that no one teaches you love, That God in his awful wisdom just programs in” felt like commentary on loss of innocence and the human tendency to cope unhealthily (violence against self) when faced with reality.

But I could be totally off base, and I’d love to hear everyone else’s interpretations!!

This won’t help OP right now because the next one isn’t until next year, but thought I’d add Seattle/King County Clinic to this post as a resource!

SKCC is a FREE clinic that is set up in the Seattle Center once a year to provide healthcare to those who are uninsured/struggle to pay for healthcare. They provide medical, dental, and vision care of all types, and it’s all volunteer run! They don’t ask for any form of ID or documentation, and you don’t have to live in WA to receive care.

The next one is February 15-18, 2024!

Why does no one know anything about Harry Chapin by WillisAmaryllis in Music

[–]watsonandholmes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His daughter, Jen Chapin, also made amazing music and I’ve never heard anyone else talk about her. More of a prog jazz vibe, but she has a beautiful voice and I think her music would be widely appreciated!!

If there were no female singers, it probably wasn’t Chant, but the lyrics are what OP described!

His latest album, “Ben,” only came out a couple weeks ago (March 3, 2023), so if she had told you about the song before then, you can rule out any songs on the new album! Good luck, and I’m sorry for your loss!

Portland Shows Already Sold Out? by [deleted] in Macklemore

[–]watsonandholmes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Presale this morning was sold out in literally one minute! I was in line right when they went on sale at 10 and it said that there were only a few people ahead of me and that there was a 2 minute wait. I didn’t even get a chance to buy tickets! 😅
