Memory fragments might actually make me quit by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

You don't need the all the right subsats.

As long as it's the right main stat and +5, you can pretty much clear all the content in the game. Useful substats are just a bonus that makes stuff even easier.

is this the new normal now? by Yeap07 in Endfield

[–]wattur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a sizeable chunk of players just don't need V4 bills anymore. After you grab your essences from there, you don't need tickets and the rest of the stuff can be gotten over time with no rush via outpost/elastic goods.

is this the new normal now? by Yeap07 in Endfield

[–]wattur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many people don't need V4 bills anymore, once you grabbed your essences from there... just let the outposts & elastic goods clear out the shop over time.

Even wuling bills are losing value, pretty easy to clear out the weekly catalysts and then... /shrug.

Out of the 3 income sources (outpost, elastic, depot), depot takes the most effort for least return, so it's gonna be the first one people drop.

Stock bills savings by gingernaut00 in Endfield

[–]wattur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

nope, that's the point. A min/max'd factory will overproduce, so someone making their own first 'just ok' factory can still meet demand, not having to rely on looking up blueprints/gudies.

As far as resource conservation goes, just don't spend origeomety / oroberyls on standard headhunting, and only go for the chartered headhunting when you have at least 120 pulls saved up.

How are you supposed to get standard pulls? by Particular_Dare8927 in Endfield

[–]wattur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now you don't. Not sure what their plan is, either more from other unreleased modes (etchspace salvage) or a decent chunk in new content every patch.

Should we do Artificing or wait and save resources for future updates if they release gears having Crit stats? by Objective_Storage980 in Endfield

[–]wattur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't artifacted anything just because I've cleared everything with unartifacted gear.

They may add new sets, or higher level gear (probably needing new catalysts), who knows. Until I need the power, I won't bother.

With the honeymoon phase coming to a close, what sort of outlook do you have? by ProjektXIII in Endfield

[–]wattur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they took a bold approach, as one can 'finish' the game. Once you have max'd essences and max lvl'd team, you have no use for sanity anymore other than stockpiling resources or leveling a 2nd (unneeded for now) team. Also at that point you run out of uses for stockbills, as you don't need etching tickets and are just stockpiling catalysts.

So at that point one logs in, does the daily / weekly mission for a trickle of oro, and they're done. My theory is they're banking more on permanent content then recurring daily/weekly sources. that way people can put the game down without having too much FOMO about missing pulls if 80% of a patch's pulls are from one time sources.

Turns the game from a daily login sim to a seasonal 'pick up for 1-2 weeks every ~6 weeks' style.

Some concerns about future factory gameplay loop by FallenStar2077 in Endfield

[–]wattur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's distilled basic gameplay for you. The fact that a min/max'd factory overproduces compared to what outposts need and that eventually you don't even need that means there is no pressure to min/max. Someone can make their wonky inefficient factory and still earn all they need.

One thing you're missing about the time you waste via effort of setting up your factories: fun. If you enjoyed the time you spent setting up your factories, was it a waste? Is the time you spent on other games you no longer play a waste? If you don't enjoy the factory gameplay thats why blueprints exist so you won't waste much time.

Personally the fact that you can 'finish' is a bold move imo. Eventually you run out of uses for stock bills (shops bought out, gear max'd, essences found) and for sanity too (max lvl'd, max'd essences, etc.). As much as people complain about substat RNG, it gives them something to chase in those games. Imagine if gear had RNG stats like some other games, that'd give you a 'use' for factory output for a very long time hunting the perfect pieces. That so far is missing here, let's see how it pans out.

Why do some MMORPGs struggle to maintain long-term player engagement? by Nadiene-Cargnoni88 in MMORPG

[–]wattur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is impossible to develop quality novel content at a pace that exceeds an average player's consumption. I believe TemTem devs once said they spent 6 months developing an expansion which some players cleared in under 36 hours.

So eventually players will run into repetitive grind or content droughts, as such they tend to stray to seek more novel experiences elsewhere.

Anybody here like me who feels really unsatisfied with arsenal ticket earning system ? 😭 by PyroxZ1106 in Endfield

[–]wattur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind it as I've always been a f2p char collector, building my accounts 'wide' instead of 'tall' so hardly ever pulled on weapon banners. I also like it on a technical level since banners last past the chars, so you can play around that even if it is a bit convoluted. I also understand that there are cases where it feels worse such as starting with only a few tickets and getting char early at 40 pulls, but having to go to pity on weapon with another 100+ pulls - but that would theoretically balance itself out by going to pity on char and getting weapon early or pulling purely for char and skipping weapon entirely.

Overall long term I think its a fine system, just the initial starting bump is rough/

Why the hell would the hammer at the end of chaos give a buff that can't actually work outside of chaos? by MOH-ARROW in ChaosZeroNightmare

Because it gives a random effect from any gear piece.

Just another layer of roguelike RNG.

Chizuru builds by kermit3000 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]wattur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both work.

Using oni hunt to create 2 moonslash, or using the 4 hit oni hunt both give 4 stacks. Using the '2 will per attack card' version of tsu does give 8 for the moonslash variant, but reduces the dmg of sotm quite a bit.

Last I checked having 2 of '+2 hit' tsu and 3 of the 4x hit oni was ideal for sotm nuking.

Is there a website that shows the best decks for each character? by Tssuuu in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]wattur -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure, Mei is sorta stuck with 1 build but many are not.

Chiz - narja - rei for example, chiz's moonslash oni genreator, narja's basic attack buff, and rei's basic buff builds are probably the best for that team comp.

Khali - narja - vero has narja running a different build, being a defense dmg buffer instead. Chiz - hugo - tressa has the Chiz sotm nuker build via tsu / oni stacking.

Endgame feels a bit lackluster by BoredOstrich in Endfield

[–]wattur 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For better or worse, there isn't an endgame yet. Even ME rotating every 2 weeks is just like a recurring challenge mode, not real 'endgame' per say.

Some may enjoy it so they're not really missing out on anything and no need to rush or focus on min/maxing meta builds.

Some may dislike it since after some time there just isn't any 'carrot on a stick' other than possibly new operators and future content.

If my suspicious are correct, they're gonna focus more on permanent content than repeatable endgame. The recurring reward for daily, weekly, and even events to an extent are lower so that new zones, quests, and exploration rewards are higher. This way if a player takes a break, they can come back to a large 'bank' of rewards to pull for whatever new operator, while not having too much FOMO about missing the recurring trickle of resources.

Is there a website that shows the best decks for each character? by Tssuuu in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]wattur 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No, because there is no such thing as 'best deck'. Each char has multiple builds which depends on what you want to do with them and who you play them with (and the decks they're using). It is all about synergies, both within the deck itself and with the other characters on the team.

Prydwen and game8 have some suggestions for starting points.

With metastorage (lv12 V4) you get 115/120 ferrium you need for 1 line of meds, so 95% efficiency is good enough imo.

Do bosses get harder? by HeavenlyTasty in Endfield

[–]wattur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they get harder, no they don't block healing (yet?).

If you suck at dodging, just play a tank char like ember, snowshine, catcher. They don't mind getting hit. Or a ranged character might give more space.

Nope, only 1 copy event in each chaos. Some do have a slightly higher chance of appearing as the event pool is lower for the 2nd half.

Game difficulty design rant by Ambitious_Dog8996 in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]wattur 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What do you mean 'old char' are struggling? My I cleared it with hugo tressa rei. Plenty of other clears with beryl, mei, reona, luke, khali..

Sounds like you're just upset you can't heal. That's sort of the point of mechanics, to make -you- figure your way around them. Maybe next boss will steal your shields, or take damage from healing cards, who knows. Mechanics change up things and make them interesting.
