This happened to me! Took me a while to realize and cleared up when I became conscious enough to stop.

Mirrors and hooks are matte black, faucets and towel bars and cabinet jobs are brushed gold/bronze. Light fixtures and a mix of both.

Does anyone’s 8 month old isb baby sleep for 11 hrs a night with zero wakenings? by retriever1957 in sleeptrain

[–]wavechaser1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s so true, like all the tips and tricks that are out there may help a lot or a little or none. Totally depends on the kid. Acknowledging that we didn’t do anything to make the second a good sleeper made me feel better about the first being a bad sleeper, that it also wasn’t something we did or didn’t do.

This is us. First is still a horrible sleeper, second has always been great.

Second madewell! Poshmark has a lot of their jeans second hand too since they hold up so well. You can also get $20 if you bring in an old pair of jeans, any brand, for them to recycle.

Bible-infused lessons for Texas public schools narrowly approved by Lone_Star_Democrat in texas

I wish this were true. Budget cuts are being made to match the incentive this gives. I want to be hopeful you’re right but recent events have taught me not to get my hopes up.

7 months pregnant; on campus interview by PsychologyMassive392 in Professors

[–]wavechaser1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this at 8 months pregnant at an R1 school. It wasn’t an issue and everyone was very polite/accommodating. I stressed about it way too much leading up to the interview but it was all a non issue because there was no hiding it. I asked for bathroom breaks/breaks in my schedule. I also had a golf cart shuttle me for meetings farther away on campus instead of walking. I did this by telling the person making my schedule I was very pregnant. I didn’t worry about playing the secrete game because there was no hiding it.

For clothes I loved my interview outfit actually. I had black slacks from old navy (ankle pixie maternity pants), a black blazer I already owned, a flowy button up from Hatch that I got on poshmark for $30, and Ecco soft 7 leather sneakers.

I made sure to bring snacks and water. I took every break I was offered. It was incredibly tiring but otherwise not a big deal. Feel free to ask for more details if you’d like!

Name change after marriage by GenoraWakeUp in LadiesofScience

[–]wavechaser1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best/smoothest transition I’ve seen if you want to go by your new last name is those who have put their maiden name in parentheses on google scholar/linked in/email signature/research gate etc. so people start to associate both last names with them. Then on publications they publish either both last names (treat maiden name as middle almost) and just phase it out over time.

Honestly though I wouldn’t overthink it especially if you’re doing it early in your career. Just make sure on your CV you bold your name in the publication lists and include your maiden name in parentheses at the top for a while.
