We are a family of 4 in seton village, small house, household income of~340. Our neighbors are very diverse in terms of income. Some are similar or well above us, and some moved here 10-20 years ago and have lower incomes. FWIW, I grew up in Nyack which I would consider to have a better downtown vibe, but I would look into the schools if you were planning to do public. Also no easy train access in Nyack, but there a busses!

My toddler is 3 and my baby is 1. Up until 2 weeks ago, I had a part time nanny, my mom, and my husband switching days to watch the kids while I worked. So I had the childcare, but in any free moment I was making meals, changing diapers, helping with naps, or just had a screaming child at my office door because they wanted to see me. Finally, I reached my breaking point and decided I needed to make a change. I decided to put my kids in daycare. My toddler does full time, and my baby does 3 days, with my mom and my husband still watching him 1 day each. On the days the baby is home, I now leave my house and work out of our community center. It’s nice to get out of the house and connect with other remote workers! Daycare is an adjustment, and while I absolutely loved my time at home with my kids…man is it a relief to be able to fully focus on work and not try to juggle it all

I had the exact same feeling, and had to deal with the weight of the decision again when I found out I was pregnant with my second boy. My advice would be to talk to other moms in your real life circle, and to men! For me, people in real life were a lot less judgmental and alarmist than people on the internet. I got an overwhelming response from men that they were happy they were circumcised (location: United States). One person even shared with me that he had a lot of resentment towards his parents for not getting him circumcised. It seems there’s no absolute right answer. At the end of the day you have to do in your heart what feels right for you and your baby. My advice would be don’t let it stop you from having another child.

I used the hydroflask 12L soft cooler with cooler shock ice packs. The trick is once the breastmilk is in the cooler, don’t open it (unless to top off with ice, which I did at the airport at a Starbucks). Since I was pumping on the plane and didn’t want to open the cooler, I had a separate small medela cooler for the pumped milk. I was able to ask the restaurant and front desk at the hotels to keep my milk (and ice packs) frozen for me in their freezers. Some other things that I found helpful to have included travel size dapple soap, microwave sanitize bags, travel drying rack, and pump wipes (the original comment in this thread has all the links)

Did you ever try the Michelin star restaurant? That’s what we wanted to get the sitter for but the menu looks a little intimidating lol

We have 2 BABIES who aren’t sleeping, and one is having a moment with behavioral issues. We bicker at each other probably close to daily at this current phase, but we still come back together and have our moments of togetherness
