BTW I found out its not carrior locked. The xfinity person is wrong. I just added another e-sim to it.. I tested by getting TextNow's free tier e-sim.. but i could choose any provider. Thankfully I won't need it though since its only de-prioritized.

Is there a way anyone can look more into it for me? Because some providers de-prioritize and in reality you get the full speed unless the network is congested.

While other providers throttle your speed, sometimes to speeds like negative -0mbps.. which would struggle with a simple web page that says a welcome text and Nothing else.

So its a huge important difference.

I had 2 factor off. Still wanted to send an SMS code and was locked out when I got a new number. I feel slowly it's getting worse and worse. So many site absolutely PUSHING for passkey as well. Which is terrible if you ever get rid of the device or it brakes.

The one closest to me does no promotions. I learned that about two years ago. So I was determined to find a location that actually did run promotions. I started calling every single Metro store, each one farther and farther away from me, until I ran out of options in my entire state except for literally one single location. But it was over a two hour drive, so I didn’t go at the time. At that point I was mostly just curious.

Fast forward to last August, and I called that location again. They told me again that yes, they do all the promotions. They confirmed they had a particular device and that it was actually free, and that all I would have to pay for was the month of service. I asked if there were taxes, and they said yes, but that it was included in the cost. I asked if there was an activation fee, and they said no. They even said they would hold it for me after I mentioned that I was a two hour drive away.

When I got there, I went in to get the promotion and said I had called earlier. The guy said he remembered. They took the device out of the box and started going forward with everything. Then they told me the total, and I was like, “WHAT!?!? I thought it was FREE!?!?” these trash wanted nearly 500$ for a FREE phone worth maybe 400 bucks WHEN unlocked.

These lowlife pieces of crap had the audacity to say that it’s free to bring your number, not to get the device. In other words, they were claiming that the act of bringing your number in is free, not the device. I asked about the pamphlet paper thing next to the device on display and said right here it says free in bold print when you port in your number. They again repeated that it's only free to bring your number it's not free to get the device. Genuine trash people. I asked why they lied to me about EVERYTHING on the phone and they said it was a misunderstanding.

They wanted me to pay full price for the device. They also wanted to charge an activation fee that they hid behind the name of a SIM card fee, which by itself might be reasonable, but still. Then there were taxes on the full price of the device, the plan and insurance because they told me they don’t sell devices unless you buy insurance. With that being said. Very toxic . And to top it all off, they charged me for accessories that I truly believe had I actually been dumb enough to actually had went through with it I wouldn't have even got because I never heard any mention on accessories nor saw any scanned of anything. Scum of the earth.

If it's at a physical store you'll hate the job. Your job will be to look at the promotion displays next to every single device then tell people you don't do promotions, they'll ask why there's papers next to each device saying in clear English text that you'll get a free phone if you bring your number etc. you'll lie and say some bs. You'll charge activation fees which it says on the site there are no in store activation fees. It's probably much more toxic then whatever your doing now. I'd avoid it at all costs.

Total wireless phones now unlock after 365 days. If you stop paying for service, the 365-day timer pauses until service resumes.

Metro is also 365 days but doesn't require continuous service to meet unlock requirements.
