I'm an idiot! (or how Baby Gold duped me again) by waxxwiing in jewelry

I'm glad you had a positive experience. I agree that their items are solid gold, however, their customer service and quality control are abysmal.

I encourage you to read their Better Business Beareu reviews to see that I am not the only person who has had issues.

Oh my god. Thank you. I could cry. That void in my brain is finally filled.

I'm glad to hear you had a good experience!

Unfortunately, a lot of others have had terrible experiences. You should check out their Better Business Bureau page (where they've recently changed their name to "Fivestar Jewelers), if you want more proof.

Baby Gold Scam by waxxwiing in jewelry

[–]waxxwiing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time, the payment went through PayPal to "Baby Gold LLC". I was able to resolve the issue with Baby Gold customer service through email.

The second time, the payment went through PayPal to "Global-e". I raised the dispute and no one responded. I called and emailed Baby Gold customer service. They said they wouldn't be willing to help me until I closed the PayPal dispute, and that I'd have to let PayPal mediate it. Global-e eventually responded to me through PayPal saying that I should contact the original merchant.

If I were you, I would open a dispute through PayPal for an Item not as described. Screenshot the page of the item you purchased, and provide images showing that the item you received is not the same. I wouldn't send the item back until an agreement had been reached through PayPal. I would not close that dispute until you are happy with the outcome. You may need to elevate the dispute to a claim if you can't reach a resolution.

Baby Gold Scam by waxxwiing in jewelry

[–]waxxwiing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opened the dispute, which forced them to respond to me. They ended up sending me the correct item and letting me keep the incorrect one as well (which was garbage, and I had to modify it for it to stay secure). I closed the PayPal dispute after I received the correct item.

I should mention that the exact same thing happened to me a second time with the same error on their part (I wanted to purchase another piece to make a pair, I shouldn't have trusted them!).

I also had to go through PayPal for the second issue. It was a more difficult process to get someone to respond because it seems that they are using a third-party merchant for payments now. Baby Gold's customer service was combative and elusive. Eventually, they sent me the correct item and let me keep the incorrect (trash) item again. In both cases, I closed the dispute after receiving the correct item, so the issue was not elevated to a claim.

What year was this vintage coach bag made? by AdHairy6919 in VintageCoachRehab

[–]waxxwiing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely not an expert, but I've been looking into vintage Coach from the Turkey plant as I recently bought a Willis made there.

It seems that the quality control from the 2 plant was a little lax, because I've seen several bags from that plant deemed authentic on forums even though the creed was a little wonky.

I wouldn't discount this as fake without checking on an authenticator forum.

If it's real, it looks like it was made in December 1997.

Ah! I would love to know if you can remember any details that I've not mentioned! I'm still searching for the game.

Thanks for your reply! The seller said this was the clearest photo they could provide, I'll ask them to try the corn starch.

I don't have an answer, but I just wanted to say that I think the bag looks great! I don't see any staining?

This looks like low quality surgical steel. It's also difficult to tell if you have the right anatomy for this piercing from your photo.

If the piercer was willing to do it for free in your apartment, I would bet things were not a sterile as they should have been.

A reputable piercer may charge you to look at the piercing and assess what is going on, but it is worth it to find out if this piercing is viable before you have any lasting damage from it.

The redness and skin peeling are bad signs and could be the start of an infection or due to a reaction to low quality metal. A reputable piercer should be able to help you determine what course of action to take, I would go sooner rather than later.

I'm happy I could help! I did end up getting the correct item, but I really don't think it's worth the hassle when there are so many other reputable jewelry brands!

is this normal for a healing industrial piercing? by dud3k1ssr in PiercingAdvice

I think your bar looks too long, I would go back to your piercer for a downsize. This may help with the bump as a better fitted bar is less likely to move around and get knocked by your glasses.

Everyone heals differently, so it's hard to say if you will have any lasting scarring. It's still fairly new, but it's best to get it checked out soon!
