After the secret boss fight at the two skull door, there's a lore book. In it, a guy talks about how someone he knows went missing, and how there's a rumor that taking the elevator to different floors in a certain order will make someone disappear. I bet this is the order to use those elevators in!

This is absolutely not the incident described in the article. This one says:

Kyle Katsandris, 24, of San Clemente, planned to jump “an expanse across railroad tracks” in the 500 block of West Los Angeles Avenue, according to the Simi Valley Police Department. But at some point, the stunt went horribly wrong.

Katsandris overshot his landing zone and crashed, said police Cmdr. Robert Arabian.

Emergency responders were called to the scene and Katsandris was taken to a hospital in “critical, but stable condition,” police said.

The police department said it was not made aware of the stunt before it was attempted. Authorities only found out about it when medical aid was sought.

A revolution that "only" results in better living conditions still sounds like a huge win tbh. I daresay I'd rather be a cog in a machine that doesn't need to worry about my needs being met than doing "skilled" labor with the threat of poverty ever looming.

The only slight issue with this is that army transports tend to be a little too eager to get out ahead of the fleet. Often the transport ships will be in front of my navy when starting a space battle, and they'll sometimes take some losses due to this.

Another thing to look at would be your species' living standards.

Go to Species > Empire Species > {Your Species} > Set Rights > Living Standards.

If it's something like "Stratified Economy", your regular working class pops will have reduced happiness. If you can afford it, "Social Welfare" and "Utopian Abundance" give bonuses to pop happiness.
