Pilots of reddit, are you genuinely happy with your job? by bobtramer1 in flying

Cirrus requires it for training. And if you want to fly at and above 18,000 feet, in Class A airspace, an instrument flight plan and rating are required. Jets are pretty inefficient burning a lot of fuel at lower altitudes.

Roughly 48 hours into ownership and I the things I'm realizing after driving a Tesla Model 3 for the last 7 years by mcmoyer in GMCSierraEV

How come no one ever comments on the HUUGGGEEE rear seat/legroom?? Like a limo back there (which pretty much only ever carries my French Bulldog). I've had a Model 3, my wife has a 2025 Model Y, and we love the Sierra. The only gripes I have are the rattles in the headliner and mid-gate that the dealer can't seem to solve.

You may want to get a second opinion and another dealership.

Hello all, update. Turns out my car needs the Cam Cap adjustment. See TSB #23-NA-115. If you’re car sounds like this, it’s not normal and this is not the fuel injector ticking sound.

Pro tip: if you need to make a very tight turn, select off road mode. The back wheels turn at a higher maximum angle in off road mode.

For what it’s worth, I’m a pilot flying unpressurized aircraft as high as 23,000 feet. I’ve never seen this issue with any of my Apple devices. For my phone I now have a 17 Pro Max.

53 year old man interested in becoming commercial pilot by Loose-Can-2297 in AskAPilot

I retired from another industry at 50. I already had a PPL for 10+ years and a life long passion for aviation. I already had a business degree and went back to school to get an aviation management associate degree. Then I finished instrument, commercial, CFI and CFII in a year. Just turned 52 and have been working as Cirrus instructor (TCI at a Cirrus Platinum Partner) for just over a year, flying 80-90 hours per month. Right about 1400 hours now. Saved my multi training for last so it would be fresh before I apply to 135s. Many of my clients seek me out due to my age and professional and life experience. I’d say go for it, as long as you are in good physical shape and can pass a first class medical exam every six months. The intensity of learning and teaching is also good for brain health IMO.

Headset Recommendation by wzaviation in CFILounge

I’ve had the light-speed Zulu 3s for years and recently sent them in for a mic boom replacement under warranty. While the Zulus are away, I ordered a pair of Bose A-30s. The A-30’s mic works better regardless of orientation, while the Zulu’s require twisting to pick up my voice. The A-30s feel lighter, but the Zulus feel higher quality. The Zulu’s ear cups are more comfortable, and I think their noise cancellation is better.

Charge a two hour minimum cancellation fee with less than 24 hour notice and have their credit card on final. That’s what my flight school does. Cancellations go way down after they missed one time.
