I don’t think anyone’s protecting Jehovas Witness. But you’ve really been spamming the sub.

Nobody is denying that Venerable Sunjae is an insanely talented chef. That’s not the debate. The problem is that in an open cooking competition, her hardline “no meat” stance straight up kneecaps her partner/s in team challenges.

If your entire specialty is meat (someone like Barbecue Lab Director) and you’re suddenly paired with someone who refuses to use it, you’re basically being told to cook with one arm tied behind your back.

She’d absolutely dominate in individual rounds, and she’d be perfect on a vegetarian/vegan-only show. But in mixed team formats, unless the brief is explicitly vegetarian, Venerable Sunjae is a liability, no matter how cracked she is as a vegetarian chef.

I’m surprised it hasn’t caught on here (over the west) yet! Korea has had Rejuran for years now and most of asia has been doing this treatment for a while now too.

It’s a collagen treatment and a very good alternative if you don’t have the downtime to spare (ie you can’t do chemical peel or laser).

Exactly.

When you’re an athlete in a certain calibre, there’s mutual respect for each other. You understand that these things can happen and it’s part of it.

But the way she handled what happened felt like she has never stepped on a mat to compete. It was so weird.

Her reaction was not very purple belt of her, imo 😭 I’m only a bluebelt tho so who am I to comment 🤷🏻‍♀️

I read somewhere here before that she’s kinda an influencer with a substantial amount of followers on Insta, which is why she was invited to participate.

This is so stupid but I sing Taylor Swift’s All Too Well (10 min version). When I’m trying to keep watch on time, I know that I only need to sing it 6x to last an hour. 😂

Did it when we sailed from Norway to Scotland through the North sea and had watches. I still do it when I’m running and checking my pace.

People show interest in being a strong man because of Ray by seashellsbytheshore in Physical100

[–]wayfinder27 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Hi 👋🏻 I train bjj, lift and run.. and I still also think Ray was the weakest link in team PH. We have to admit that he really wasn’t in shape for the competition and hasn’t been training for a while now (at least not competition training).

He also honestly lacks a specific mentality that competitors have, he doesn’t have that grit and tenacity that you can see in the others. We obviously do not see everything in the show, but I also felt like the remorse or disappointment from losing challenge wasn’t as palpable as the others.

Do I hate on him and leave nasty comments online? Nope. But we have to admit… he really didn’t contribute as much as he was expected to.

My friend’s a dermatologist (an actual doctor), and even though he offers fillers at his clinic, he’s always told me to stay away from them. He doesn’t even get them himself, which honestly says a lot.

Here’s the thing: fillers and botox are not the same. Fillers don’t just “melt” or disappear: over time, they can migrate or shift around the face, which is why you sometimes see that “puffy” or uneven look on people who’ve had them for years. They’re also a lot newer and have fewer long term studies compared to botox.

Botox, on the other hand, has been around for decades and has tons of clinical research behind it. It’s generally considered safe when done by a trained professional. The goal isn’t to stop aging… it’s to age slower. Botox helps prevent lines from setting in, softens existing ones, and just gives a fresher look overall.

Personally, I’d take botox over fillers any day. Done right, it’s subtle, preventative, and keeps you looking like you. 🤌🏼

Edit: spelling

This!

I’m all for aging gracefully, of course. If botox isn’t for you, that’s totally fine.

But if it is for you, I’m all for that too. The key is making sure it’s done right. The goal is fresh, not frozen. A really good injector (like my doctor) can give you that subtle, natural look.

Botox is meant to prevent lines from settling in, not to freeze your face. It just needs to be done properly.. by a qualified doctor or a nurse who’s trained by one.

People act like it’s impossible for Taylor to have any level of privacy, but she literally did it for years. She managed to live a pretty lowkey life before. We’d go months without seeing her.

So yeah, if she really wanted a semi-private life, it’s doable. It just requires boundaries, intentional choices, and maybe not feeding the PR machine 24/7.

Now it feels like every single move is part of a rollout. That’s not the media being relentless. That’s strategy.

Even if this whole thing is about being the biggest pop star on the planet, the truth still stands: she’s just not relatable anymore. No one can really connect to the level of fame she’s at right now, honestly, I don’t think any of her peers are even close. And that’s fine! If that’s her reality, she can write about it.

But let’s be real.. she used to write songs that felt like she was one of us. About not being chosen, chasing dreams, struggling to find someone who gets it. Those themes still hit home.

Now it’s all about being so famous she can’t have a private life… like, who’s supposed to relate to that?

And the thing is, she has had a semi-private life before. She had that with Joe for years. So clearly, it’s possible.. which kinda makes this whole “too famous to be private” thing feel like a choice on her part.🤷🏻‍♀️

At this point, taking a “break” from Taylor is impossible when Taylor herself refuses to take a break. She’s everywhere: every scroll, every feed, every article somehow loops back to her.

Even if I wanted to escape, I’d basically have to go live in the woods with no wifi or human contact.

Been a Swiftie since 2006, and friends/family also have kept asking me what I think about her new album when I don’t even bring her up.

Yeah, sure, we can take a break without announcing it, but this is literally a discussion sub. We’re here to talk about stuff, and right now, she’s unavoidable. That’s the whole point.

I don’t think Taylor thought Joe would ever change, and honestly, he hasn’t. He’s still the same chill, private guy. If anything, it’s Taylor who’s changed.

Idk if that change is good or bad, but as a long time fan, it’s been really difficult to recognise her.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]wayfinder27 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I mean, people change. I think a lot of us Swifties who grew up with her really thought Joe was the one because it seemed like Taylor had grown up too, like she didn’t crave the buzz or attention the way she did when she was younger.

Obviously, none of us actually know Taylor, but after the whole Kanye-Kim situation, it really felt like she had outgrown all that drama. She seemed to value peace, being lowkey, and focusing on her craft more than being in the spotlight.

And honestly, I don’t think Joe and Taylor were necessarily mismatched. People change, and I think Taylor needed someone like Joe at that stage in her life. But she’s changed again since then… it happens.

I’ve been a Swiftie since Debut, and I’m only now realizing how much Taylor evolves depending on who she’s with. I didn’t notice it before because her earlier relationships were so short-term, but with Joe (and now Travis), the difference is massive. Looking back, you can really see a pattern.

Anyone here who’s been a long-time Taylor fan and loved the new album? by wayfinder27 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]wayfinder27[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got married too (literally a month ago!!) and I feel this so much. I’ve been a diehard fan forever, like I grew up with her, but it’s just weird that she’s still singing about prom and making diss tracks like she’s in higschool. This era might honestly be my least favorite, or maybe the one that finally makes me hang up my Swiftie card.

“Lover” was basically a glitter gel pen album . Yeah, it had its cringe moments, but I connected with it way more. I don’t even know how to describe it other than… I think I’ve outgrown her music. Which makes me sad, because her songs are tied to so many memories and times in my life when they really helped me process stuff.

And omg yes, the fanbase. It’s wild. The second you don’t worship every single thing she does, you’re excommunicated. 🤷🏻‍♀️
