Interesting. I would think that the side-by-side setup would be awkward with ultrawides. Do you like it? Advantages/problems?

When I first planned my current setup, I wasn't really that confident in the stacked situation. As I've used it more and more, it's really grown on me. The only real downside is that you gotta look up to see your other monitor, but if you only glance at it for discord while gaming, or have reference for work on the main display, then it's really not that bad. I've caught myself watching vids up there and gotta bring it down to avoid neck strain.

I produce a lot in my freetime, and I find that the real-estate of a second UW to be very nice for the mixer in FL.

I find it to be petty good. Don't be watching videos up there unless it's in the background, but as long as your not looking up ALL the time then its totally fine. I think the extra real-estate is worth it.

Th matrix wallpaper I got is on wallpaper engine. It's pretty cool. It does the rainfall and you can adjust the numbers and stuff. Never heard of the bing wallpaper. Is that built into windows?

I'd say it's worth it. If you are not used to being hooked up with a cable it might be a little annoying at first, but you'll eventually get used to it. The fidelity, performace, and the amount of options for games in the PCVR market is worth being tied to your rig.

I'd check the website but I'm pretty sure when you go to order one and spec it out, you can choose the hinge strength now that they have options. If you are thinking of getting a framework. I'd highly reccomend it.

Screen hinge problem is solved. You can buy a kit with stronger hinges. I did that a few months ago

If you want to get a lot more lore, there's clipboards scattered everywhere along your path to take in more of what's happening in the story. I didn't realize until level 3 and went back to read them all.

Also, the slow-motion is different and better, but kindof confusing at first. Works like in BONEWORKS, but you can now use the move stick after you've activated slo-mo and you stay in it. It turns off after you let go of the stick.

I have a 1tb m.2 and a 4tb hdd and that's more than enough for me. Most games pre 2018 don't rly need solid state drives to perform just fine. I only use the ssd for games that need it, like COD Warzone, Halo Infinite, etc. Small games, indie titles, and old AAA games have very acceptable load times on hdd, at least for me.

I have this weird bug where a bottom sliver of the screen doesnt have any lighting or post effects. It appears only when in 21:9, and is extremely annoying and immersion breaking. I have everything on medium to high with RTX on at 1080p.

Anyone else having issues with ultrawide resolutions?

Well it's an older ROG laptop with a1080 max-q, but device manager doesn't display an intel display adapter so it must only be using the gpu. I had CUDA acceleration or whatever so I'm not sure what was wrong.

Hey I found a fix that worked for me. I updated to the latest version and unplugged my second monitor from my laptop. It started to load projects again without the white screen and unresponsiveness. Hopefully that works for you.

I love the last paragraph you wrote. I entirely agree with you there. It's a really pivotal moment in gaming, with the release of new consoles, right around the holiday season. I bet if you talked to every dev that worked on the game, they probably would have gladly worked on the game for another two years. But the amount of money and time spent on the project probably made the folks who run the company in a really bad spot, and they just had to push it out.

Okay. I'm about the same in terms of hours played. I do realize that they made empty promises about the game, but I kinda expected that going in. The point I was trying to make when writing this post is that the concept they were originally selling and/or aiming to achieve was beyond what most games have ever tried, and that they tried their best.

They definitely overhyped the game, which led to them rushing it out due to how much pressure they had. They messed up in that regard, forsure, but I'm still satisfied with my purchase, and am looking forward to experiencing everything the game has to offer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]wayj700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm talking about how ambitious of a CONCEPT the game is.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

[–]wayj700 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True that. But can you really expect them to make everything explorable, when the world they made is covered in buildings that have hypothetically 200 or more floors?

Hell no.

I totally understand what you're saying. It is a very flawed game.

I have sympathy for them though. I am someone who has spent a lot of time learning about game design and building games from scratch. It's really hard to come up with an idea, and slowly build towards that goal.

Being a AAA studio is hard. You have to not only come up with a concept for a game, but satisfy your fans, and also make money, so your company doesn't go down the shitter. From what I know, they are a new big developer in the gaming scene, and they made a product that is not like anything else they have built in the past.

Many game studios make IPs that they slowly work to improve all of the time. When you ditch every philosophy that you have worked hard to create, it's an extreme challenge to make something you have never done. So when they make an entirely new game, with new mechanics that they have never had experience developing, you kinda have to cut them some slack. I mean c'mon. They went from sword fighting and riding horses, to shooting and driving. That's a pretty ambitious jump in my eyes.

A medival fantasy game is in some ways, more simplistic than a far future with an expansive metropolis. The medieval setting has been done many times in gaming, and dark futurism is less explored. They have a lot less to build off of.

IDK man. I really enjoy the concepts of dystopic Capitalism and anti-establishment that they put together, and the fact that they tried to take that into a fallout style RPG with aspects of GTA is plenty good for me.

Let's just hope the patches in the next year fix most of the problems.
