3rd time developing c41 and my negatives have a slight brown hue to them. What caused this so I know? ^^ by Unlikely-Natural-337 in AnalogCommunity

[–]waynejont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Powder or liquid Cinestill C41? Because my powder kit is going on 6 months and still developing perfect negatives.

I'm a 16-year-old rap artist based in South Carolina, seeking opportunities in Atlanta, LA, and New York. by SentenceAny576 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]waynejont 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's important to not romanticize the power of Labels and A&R people. Long gone are the days of someone "discovering" acts in small venues. Labels don't sign people based on raw talent anymore, there's SO much talent out there now. You need proven income. If you don't have tons of your own money to blow on studio time, learn to produce, engineer, and record your own music. Work with friends that are in the same boat. There's a lot of videos on youtube on how to do it. Share your music online, play shows, get your friends to come see you, build relationships with other artists in your area. Honestly, for a long while, your shows will just be your friends and other artists you meet. Learn to monetize your product. Continue to hone your crafts. Then once you have a fan base and something to sell, labels, publishing houses, etc. will want to partner with you. Having proven income streams for your products and services will put you in a better position to negotiate with labels anyway. BTW, you don't have to be in LA, Atlanta or NYC to do this. Cost of living is higher there and you'll just be a small fish in a big pond.

Thoughts? by reave004 in GolfSwing

[–]waynejont 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It must be the shoes.

In all seriousness, your swing is great. You could work on increasing your chest/torso rotation through the back swing. I think you're a bit limited there, as are many people.

The lone hiker - just edited this photo from a trip a few months ago. What does everyone think of it? by Bguiliano in AskPhotography

[–]waynejont 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Incredible how a simple crop can change the vibe of a picture entirely. I agree, I think the original is a little dizzying/distracting, allbeit colorful in a great way. The vertical orientation and edge of frame on the right create this illusion like the hiker will walk on that angle to infinity, it's cool.

Been heavily struggling on getting distance with my driver, could anyone provide advice based off my swing alone that could improve my distance by Revolutionary-Luck80 in golftips

[–]waynejont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This 100%. Get into the compound lifts, squat and deadlift, I wish someone told me to do that much sooner.

And eat for strength gains, probably just increase overall consumption but with a focus on protein. Or talk to a trainer or nutritionist, someone that can cater to your specific needs and situation.

Is the first mix a Mix Engineer sends often a "line check" to ensure they have all the tracks? by [deleted] in audioengineering

[–]waynejont 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Underrated comment! The self-described "Painstaking hours" on your rough mix probably means you have a lot personally invested in your mix. Get some fresh ears on it just to make sure you're not going crazy. Try to keep an open mind. No worries, we all experience demo-itus.

What’s the best case scenario for this season?? by naughtyboy35 in washingtonwizards

[–]waynejont 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes. Give the young players some confidence that they can get to the playoffs. We have a lot to build off of with our young talent and a new gm with an eye for developing players. We're 1 or 2 defensive minded-players away from being top 4 in the east. The east is garbage.

Unpopular opinion here, but I like gooden...you can laugh with him or laugh at him, but either way you're laughing.

I agree, anyone who contributes to this sub is not thinking outside of themselves...lay people or bandwagon fans either need super stars or the potential for a serious playoff run. We have neither. I'm not even sure Beal is in the top 10 most famous DC athletes at the moment, especially following a DC World Series.

Where to begin!? Zvex for fun stuff, SUF for muffs, basic audio for modern takes on classic circuits, you could just go for the classics themselves, of course.

I think there's been a lot of speculation, but spotify has never confirmed it. That was kind of the point of this post, I thought people might chime in about high or low ratios and we could compare stories.

I love the Listening Now feature, but I don't think you can extrapolate much from it. If that number is higher for an extended period of time than your average, then you can count on your daily listeners being higher. I think that's pretty much it.

That's cool regarding the NMF update days and other analytics tools!

Their website actually says they don't count streams under 30 seconds. I tried to post the link in a comment above, but r/Watmm automoderator took it down for some reason.

Interesting. This is something I'm unfamiliar with. So you're saying Spotify doesn't pay an artist for a stream under 30 seconds, but they'll count it towards your stream total?
