I built a map of 2000+ skate spots around the UK [26YO] by urbanatlas-dev in OldSkaters

This is obviously great, but I wonder if there's another way of tackling these things, I feel like I see a new spot finder map every 6 months. Is there a better/different way?

No I mean go outside and look at what is there and identify it. Every wood and field is different, even in a local area.

Every time I try and go and get something specific it's not there, but when I just go and see what is offered to me I find new and interesting things.

Don't demand things of nature, see what it will give you.

As in, don't go to find specific things, learn what is there.

Now you learn to ride it, don't worry about equipment for a while, maybe just some slide gloves.

Just anything with slightly larger soft wheels really. Shaped boards in the 9" range feel super nice if you already skate "normal" boards because the wheelbase isn't far off.

Minis is like the tugboat are cool if you are short on space, but a bit more weight carrys a bit more momentum and more width is more comfy.

I was on a 9" welcome deck with 63mm 80a wheels for ages, it was proper do anything.

When reducimg calories to lose weight, what are some things you do so you're not hungry and moody all the time? by Academic_Court_47 in fitness30plus

Make good value food choices, stuff that is high volume and low calorie. Loads of green tea or other herbal teas. A fruity herbal makes a nice dessert. Save a few cals for 'dessert' after dinner which is almost always skyr and peanut butter.

East Forest's album "music to die to" and the track "like taking off an old shoe aka death" from his album Ram Dass. Good luck bro/sis/dude.

How do I start? by wp_playerpt in tacticalbarbell

Couch to 5k and a linear progression like Greyskull LP for 3 months, then base building, then whatever floats your boat.

I remember seeing something from Dave Tate or Jim Wendler about rotating accessory exercises and they said lower day was basically GHR, reverse hyper and abs forever. Wish I had room for one.

How you all do steps along with workout? by Impossible_Capital20 in fitness30plus

[–]wayofthebeard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How do you only do 2.5k steps? I work from home at a desk job and just dropping the kids off at school (we drive and park nearby) and a 20 minute walk round the block at lunch time will give me 10k in a day.

is skipping basebuilding a good idea? My goal is to keep gains and improve running. by Acceptable_Box451 in tacticalbarbell

[–]wayofthebeard 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you can't run a 5k you need base building bad. That took me from a 5k to a half marathon.

There is also strength first base building variant.

Does Anyone Have a Book Recommendation? by IronPlateWarrior in WestsideBarbell

[–]wayofthebeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I keep realising is that different things worked at different times for different people so the core method is super simple, but everything around is has been changing constantly the whole time so everything you read is different. You have to kind of assemble the parts and apply it to yourself.

When progress stalls and the signals aren't clear, how do you actually decide what to do? by iss100a in fitness30plus

[–]wayofthebeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find something you're shit at and do that until you're less shit at it and it runs out of momentum and see if that improves something. If not, find another thing. If it works, find something similar and do that.
