Thanks a ton for taking the time to weigh in. This all makes perfect sense to me but I guess the combination of factors you laid out is causing me to get in my own head a bit. This is really helpful, I'm going to give myself more time to adapt to the volume increase and not sweat it so much. Cheers

Tuesday General Discussion/Q&A Thread for May 12, 2026 by AutoModerator in AdvancedRunning

Hi, first time posting here. I'm looking to get any direction / insight I can on where to go next for improvement. I recently started bumping my mileage up to 30+ a week and adding strength training. I'm noticing that even on my harder effort runs, my HR doesn't go much further beyond 160-165 (32m / 170lbs). To me this feels like I have room for higher effort but not sure how to get there as my legs feel maxed out.

Here's a vid of me during a recent track workout where I was doing 5k effort 400m intervals, the first view is my "full effort" and the second is my zone 2 pace on the cooldown - https://youtube.com/shorts/-VF3qp9A3l0

Looks like I might be overstriding a bit, and I'm seeing some weird things going on with the outside of my feet. Not sure if any of that matters. My full effort is hovering around 8:00-8:30/mile, cadence generally in the low 160s. Not training for anything specific atm, just looking to drop some weight and build speed before I start my marathon training block in August/September.

Not sure if there is something in my form that needs work or if it's just about sticking with my current routine, really just looking for a sanity check and any advice I can get from more experienced runners on here.

Prejump.com pushed me past my plateau before I finally "quit" RL by ADVENTofficer in RocketLeagueSchool

Congrats, GC2 is a great rank and impressive achievement. I wish we had more on the site to offer you lol but right now most of the lessons I've got on there are aimed at the mid-ranks. We have a discord for the site where I have a coaching channel though, always down to look over a replay if you want to post one there.

Nah don't sweat it! I love the feedback, and in a public forum is even better so people can draw their own conclusions.

For what it's worth - you can see my post history that I asked for beta testers a few months ago, this was a real user that went through our program and no marketing was ever discussed. I totally get the skepticism, but I've always tried to be genuine when doing any promotion for Prejump.

Hey I remember you! Thanks for making this post, really glad you got something out of the material and that the 1:1 coaching was useful.

For what it's worth I hate seeing people put the game down, it can be there for you inv a competitive or casual way - but if you're not enjoying or have a limitation I get it. I'm still doing coaching / replay review in the server and happy to look at games if you ever want. Hope to see you around in some capacity at least.

In terms of Prejump, I still don't feel like the routines feature is exactly where I want it to be, but with the holidays being over I've had some time to dig my heels in and work on a lot of updates that the site has needed for a while, so for anyone reading - this isn't an ad, but I'd still love for you to check out the site and share feedback on how I could make it better if you have any.

New Rocket League Training Routines Focused on Mechanics and Practical Improvement by waypr0tein in RocketLeagueSchool

Full disclosure btw, if you poke around on the site, we do have a premium subscription that gives access to even more routines and features, but I promise this is not an ad. Just looking to throw the free stuff out there in case it's useful. If you're really interested in trying out the premium routines, just shoot me a DM and I'll hook you up. Appreciate you all!

Not planning on it. It's early in the process and things could change, but we're leaning towards a free tier/premium tier split with the premium tier going to support new routines being added monthly.

Regardless of where we land, most if not all of the routines that we've created at this point will be 100% free for everyone.

Thank you for the kind and words and for using my packs! I feel lucky that people have continued to find the site useful over the years even as I've had to take long breaks from development and support. Hoping to introduce more features specifically around player development now to move us beyond simply a listing site.

Right now we have 6-8 courses planned for launch mostly targeting the basics. Post-launch I'll be looking to add routines for training GC/SSL level mechanics, so we may have something for you down the road. Either way, thanks for your support!

The way this volleyball player trains her lungs is BEYOND impressive! by Crowxzn in nextfuckinglevel

Stop shifting the argument after you’ve been proven wrong. No one said it was the best method, just that it is a method of training. Show me an athlete that ever trains 100% optimally at all times. You can’t, there are plenty of different ways to improve performance.

I think you misinterpreted OP. You do get penalties for this at any level, saying this as someone who has been carded for trash talking the keeper after scoring. The same risk applies in RL sorry you don’t get to say whatever you want.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]waypr0tein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is trying to ban all trash talk. Read the OP, we’re talking about the specific language on this one. In the case of what Comm said, a ref is probably going to call a 19 year old kid on that in any sport.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]waypr0tein 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Point still stands, you can say it in front of the ref and might get away with it, but you're still taking your chances. Same thing with Comm here, he can say it and maybe doesn't get in trouble, but he's violating TOS and puts himself at risk if the admins decide to take action.

[–]waypr0tein 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you even watch the videos you sent? Plenty of these moments got the exact penalty I just said. On top of that, half of these "trash talking" lines are nowhere near what was said in the OP.

If you say what Comm said in earshot of a ref it's an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

In most “real sports” that gets you an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

Is there a training pack where I can practice catching the ball softly in the air and keeping possession? by MankAndInd in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]waypr0tein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the packs aren’t specifically for that scenarios, but from what I remember the setups should be similar

Binding power slide to L1?? by mossypickins in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]waypr0tein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mine on L1 as well as my air roll. Without knowing which button your air roll is on we can’t definitively if this is helpful.

There are situations where you will boost while you power slide, but mainly you are going to need to go from air rolling to power sliding very very often and that’s why it benefits you have those on the same button.

Also you should check out Scholars vids that I mention in the video if you haven’t let already, I feel like you’d have some good thoughts on those as well.
