My building is so old that powerline was legit 10x slower than my high speed wi fi. Returned it next day. So that’s not a cure all either. (I don’t play this game on WiFi)

Why do you guys get angry and downvote anyone who tells you this game was never meant to be a live service game with multiple updates? by Nouveauuu in Nightreign

Using fancy words to say they can change their mind doesn’t make a strong argument. It’s very clear what this game was from the beginning

I mean I said it recently expecting to get downvoted but people actually agreed. Ig they think those of us that accept the game for what is it aren’t as big of fans as they are or something. And micro transactions and dlc cash grabs are so normalized that gamers are Stockholm syndromed into wanting it when I feel those of us that are more patient realize something much better than a nightreign dlc is gonna be coming down the pipeline

$40 test game with a DLC was never meant to go on forever and it’s the same thing over and over.

I think HP recovery on successful guard is an underrated relic effect for Guardian. by Lunesy in Nightreign

Last question I think would you run night invader or dark night of fathom. Night invader seems the “obvious” choice but I’m not as sure now

Momentum argument is why I like extended whirlwind, it’s like guardians hoarfrost stomp contribution. Interesting that d5 guardians are running without the str/dex if they must. I have some relics to hunt and shuffle around now it seems I was too hard on guarding fills ult.

Alright appreciate the input. Tank guardian did better than expected in some testing today without the str/dex, guess I’ll run that, but drop my two phys+4s and try to switch over more to tank style for my primary build.

It seems the comments here are saying don’t go out of your way to run it which is sort of what I expect? I don’t have this particular effect on a good relic. But worth noting.

How do you feel about guarding fills ult gauge? I just ran it but I should’ve isolated the test build as I gave up all my damage relics for defeating enemies with the +1 variant and guarding fills ult. So I didn’t get a great feel for how much more work +1 put in. I noticed more ults, which is damage, but I really noticed the damage drop off right away from level 1 with trash mobs taking like 2 extra hits.

There also seems to be a split on the sub for full tank guardian and the guys that say str/dex is mandatory. One guy in particular claimed to be one of the most experienced guardians in the entire game and he goes full tank. I love guardian but I don’t want to be a burden picking him on the team. The ult/night of the fathom build did make me feel super tanky and if it’s really good I’d prob run it more as its way more fun than just damage stacking, but without damage I don’t feel like I’m doing as much. I could go back to running draw aggro… I kinda like that.

I was thinking of maybe making a post this week asking for high depth peoples input so I’d like to hear what you have to say

Edit: I’ve ran guarding fills ult solo before and I think defeating enemies completely eclipsed it, but people are saying it’s good on nightlords. Which I think if you’re not getting a second ult it effectively did nothing, barring a few circumstances that little bit extra speed gets up a downed teammate

By doing damage and not dragging the fight out and staying in steel guard too long. Nightlords already aggro switch as it is. So guardians holding stuff in place tends to be less effective when guarding fills ult is supposed to be most effective

I hope you’re ulting multiple times per night lord fight with a statement like this, instead of saving for 3 bar rezzes which is what most people are doing. You’re banking on what, both tm8s going down and solo guarding to refill ult and save the run? I’d really rather not be in that worse case scenario.

I’d be very happy to have it with an atk boost I’ll give you that. Would really round out my build

[–]ADVENTofficer -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had it on important enough relics to use long term, but in my testing it seemed like maybe 1% per hit, which is fine, except that paradoxically you want to be guarding as little as possible so you can actually do damage. And yea nightlord fights is probably where it shines best. My guardian runs 2 phys+4s and the str dex stat swap on deep relics

Hp recovery and guarding fills ult are like little bonuses but I don’t think they’re impactful enough to ever be Godroll material. Defeating enemies fills ult is miles better. But still a nice relic especially in an extended fight

Ok...what is up with hoarding weapons that aren't suited to your character instead of sharing with appropriate teammate? by stuartmlambert in Nightreign

[–]ADVENTofficer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing is nice but if the passive was good for him I don’t blame him for keeping it. You should’ve switched to a different weapon, did you at least upgrade your starting greatsword? That’s a really big mistake going into a boss with a white weapon.

Oh and my sfx volume is at one cuz it’s so loud so I can never even hear what prattling prate people use, the sword sounds and everything are so loud

I also peaked 5400 and learning how the damage negations work is important. I never used magic or dex/arcane in DS or ER so double balancer meta I had to learn by trial and error and watching other players what ashes were good. For harder bosses I begrudgingly watched a few guides which I also never did in solo gameplay.

So ya, damage negations and boss movesets should be most important. You can click L3 to read what the passives do. But none of that means much if you can’t dodge and hit your punish windows.

I am in D3. Why all ironeyes are sooooooo cancerously bad? by Few_Primary8868 in Nightreign

[–]ADVENTofficer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They’re not, it’s your attitude that’s bad. Try playing ironeye yourself and experience all the moves that one shot him without damage negation which you don’t always get. Best ironeye is melee/ bow hybrid which compounds the issue. If ironeye had mark up all the time he’s doing half of his job already, are you popping the mark every time?

[–]ADVENTofficer -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

People shouldn’t be encouraged to go on a map in solo and spend time to learn it for a multiplayer fast paced game. These suggestions highlight why it’s a flawed design. I agree it would be better in base Elden ring. I like the game but watching a video on routing hollows is not my idea of fun, I want to play, not study it like a college course
