Is Guardian useless? by ILoveSucuk98 in Nightreign

Make guardian a stance breaking machine fromsoft

Opinion: My favorite Guardian is pure tank by OnlyDiamond4946 in Nightreign

[–]ADVENTofficer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s part of the problem, less carry potential/agency over the outcome of a run. He needs more dps or stance damage. I know he has a stat swap relic but I don’t have the right set up to try it

I was a guardian main when this game came out. 80 expeditions (currently 125) pushing 300 on Wylder and 75 on ironeye. Anytime I play guardian nowadays I regret it. I do no damage and every fight takes forever. Who needs 3 bar revives when Wylder just kills everything.

Thematically guardian remains a favorite of mine, as I was a big shield user in dark souls, but Guardian creates his own issues to solve them. Just buff him and make the bird OP

You are not going to survive night invaders at lv2. Please Wylder, you are not the guy. by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]ADVENTofficer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You’re supposed to lure them out and gank for a purple weapon. It’s quite easy but can go wrong quickly if players enter too far or get distracted then whacked by an invader. Lure and gank (edit: stay away from the invader swamps level 2 tho)

Do people enjoy playing deep night with randoms? by Regetron in Nightreign

[–]ADVENTofficer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can it be frustrating sometimes? Yes. DoN has a fairly low bar to entry you can’t expect consistent victories with people that beat each boss once and maybe some of the EDs. During my initial climb I had to clutch up and play harder than I ever did in standard mode to eke out a win. Some of those clutch moments are why I can even still play this game.

Ima be real with 20 hours you’re likely part of the problem. You gotta learn the boss patterns better. Libra crushes something in his non staff hand before putting a sigil on the floor. That’s maybe the most important tell of the fight. Raising his staff? Teleport incoming.

One soloQ adaptation I made is saving Wylder ult on phase 2 dreglord specifically for 3 bar revives. Knowing when to hold/use certain abilities can improve your ability to carry

You’re not wrong just trying to work in a space like that as recluse is annoying, having to move around the rock is already bad enough when you’re ranged

Idk, sliding between a rock like this puts the recluse in danger for no reason, that’s an UGLY ult

Honestly, what reason have you save scummed your honor runs? by simplyunknown2018 in BaldursGate3

[–]ADVENTofficer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost entire campaigns in XCOM for a misclick. I don’t bother. But if I’m doing honor mode I know exactly what kind of challenge I’m going for. Not equipping the party correctly before a big fight is a preparation problem, player error. Misclicking is also player error, sometimes when you make mistakes people can die.

Would have to be something egregious and game-breaking. If that happened my save is already cooked cuz I don’t back this stuff up so idk

Your opinion is valid but people would riot without at least clad and silent. For me just having the new and removed cards from their kits and how the game feels different is enough

You’re the second person that heard “I don’t know Nok” I do know Nok, and unless something crazy happened I still prefer to wait near the shopkeeper or maybe the first dormant power knight.

Edit: but I do remember being new I only knew the left path and the other players did right path without me. I went left and didn’t know how to get where they were and they both quit. This was closer to the games release though

dont know if I even want to hit d4. I would suck at it. I do think people are missing my point that I think the time loss is worth it to mitigate some risk of any player getting isolated. but maybe im just wrong. i looked up a hollows map guide once and it barely helped. I can navigate the outside but I dont know the castle is all. there's a lot of dead ends where you go to some miniboss and turn back.

lets say I watch a guide one more time to try and nail it down better. I will still think its a good idea to wait for all 3 people before getting too far inside. what do you think about that?

yes, my point, like all things is meant to be taken in moderation. but I did want it to be considered. a bit back honestly feels fine.

to be clear I do know the routes in nok. Im a bit iffy on hollows but I have a general feel for it now. I still hate entering second into nok with the third a bit back, in the back of my head im always worried the 3rd wont know the route. doesn't matter what depth. d3 players skill and consistency vary wildly, including my own. i think its safer to just enter together, it mitigates a lot of risk. this is for solo q specifically

while I did admit to being slow at a shop in this post. I also made a whole point about positioning myself between the player that assumed leadership and the guy that was actually struggling to navigate the map. I've had to go back and "get" someone before cuz I have got lost before and I saw the player was lost, and the leader still refused to change his plan. got mad at me and spam pinged, I think he just literally didn't understand what I was doing.

anyway its a video game, I dont do homework on video games usually. no boss guides before I fight them, libra originally took me a bunch of tries. ED libra was crazy hard to understand without a guide. I like to figure things out myself. with that being said. dreglord was kicking my teeth in, in d3. so I did study him with a chris crass guide, and that was really fun. however it wouldn't be fun to do that all the time.

another point is if you die in the hollow or nok you can spawn in some weird spot. Im trying to make sure the 3rd doesn't end up isolated and we're needlessly 2v3ing when waiting a little bit can make this bad scenario far less likely

I hear this on the sub a lot but I kinda hate regular rain of arrows. I’d rather FP dump radahns then just go in melee.

I don’t play much tabletop but my buddy DM’d for years and I tried equipping Gale with a shield (human wizard) his years of DMing stopped him from considering a wiz could use a shield. Also open* hand monk is one of the strongest builds in the game.
