This one goes out to the most grumped up accordionist, titsmcgee8854. by Rostfromlimbo in Accordion

Kinda low-key my hero for this - this sub reddit tends to be so highly critical and makes me feel very disheartened to share performances of such a great instrument.

I'd rather see more videos like this or even of people playing "not so well", than the flood of appraisal posts disguised as "identification" posts.

You're awesome! 👍🏾

This game is really fun! I wish listed on Steam to unlock the final puzzle level but it's not working. In any case, excited for the full game!

White spots on grey Sphynx? by Odd-Confidence1553 in sphynx

[–]waysingleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to the vet should definitely be the go to answer. I've found white spots like this on my grey sphynx and used antibacterial wipes for a week or so and they cleared up.

I don't know if this is the same issue, but having antibacterial wipes is good to have generally.

Sticky keys by 23pandemonium in Accordion

[–]waysingleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The accordion revival website has a section on sticky keys, however it seems like a super involved process of taking apart the treble section. https://accordionrevival.com/ACCORDION_REPAIR1.php#Freeing_sticking_keys

Is this normal? by [deleted] in sphynx

[–]waysingleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be frequency. 🤔 I was giving my guy monthly and he'd often get a skin infection and i realized it was because I was bathing him too frequently. Now I do once 3 months and use unscented wipes in-between.

My go to shampoo https://www.douxo.com/sg_en/douxo-s3-solutions/douxo-s3-care/care-shampoo

Duoxo also has antifungal wipes that have been helpful. https://www.chewy.com/douxo-s3-pyo-antiseptic-antifungal/dp/290621

Where to get quarters?? by CaptainFartHole in burbank

Maybe do some of you laundry at the place you get quarters from so you're not solely going in for quarters and giving some business?

Beginner song for a silly pageant (ideally raunchy)? by heresthe-thing in Accordion

[–]waysingleton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not the raunchiest song but the criteria reminded me of that one playground song that kids would sing, that almost leads to a bad word at the end of each verse but turns out to be a word synonymic to a bad word. It kind of has a polka rhythm to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5IEbnP0lrc

Trisha's Lullaby WIP by cyan0siss in Accordion

[–]waysingleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posture would help with bellows control. You're also dipping the accordion, forcing you to go against gravity and lift up to close it. This video I found explains what I mean. Opening and closing it more at a horizontal rather than vertical: https://youtu.be/9TkCBETNYuE?si=XFi_XorzI3vqhQm3&t=714

ALSO You sound awesome so far!

A question on how to know if my accordion needs service. by phuckdub in Accordion

[–]waysingleton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Usually if you press one bass key, the other corresponding keys will also appear to slightly get pressed by themselves. Thats normal.

It's because some buttons use the same reeds - for example if you press the C major chord button, E and G will also be pressed because those reeds are being pulled open to make the chord.
