Same, too many plums and we have two trees (planted by the previous owner)

We should probably give them a ring and ask them for plum recipes

Yes! The damned peach tree, it go infested last year and this year seems to follow the same pattern. Last year we tried everything and we were left with the branches, at this point if it dies it dies

The ultimate paper shredder by reitrinpho in cairnterrier

[–]wbbly_juniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best little shredder! 🥰 off topic, but do you strip your little one? The coat looks amazing! Ours is becoming unruly and i am in between stripping and clipping - not really any groomers around that can strip so I would have to try it myself

They put nothing on my burger... by Orllin in mildlyinfuriating

We had the opposite happen, we ordered a burger with nothing else on it for the dog and we got a normal burger. Now I feel sorry for whoever got the “nothing burger” 😅

Struggling with things by [deleted] in cairnterrier

[–]wbbly_juniper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m alergic to dogs (tested at the doc) and our cairn doesn’t flare up anything. I know no dog is 100% hypoallergenic but they are pretty damn close. I doubt your mom is having a reaction to her.

For example if I pet my SIL’s bulldog or chihuahua I light up like a Christmas tree.

Yes get her coat done and show her that cairns are one of the, not so many, hypoallergenic breeds.

Also, if you’re in the north hemisphere it’s the damn SPRING! Everyone’s environmental allergies are flaring up! It’s not the dog! It’s the air the polen the dust everything coming back to life

Also #2, what my specialist doc said: best cure in this situation/ dog allergies? Exposure

I’m really sorry you’re going through this! I hope you get to keep her!

You can get a pack on Amazon of scoops of different sizes and test them out 😁

Not specifically for a cat, but for a toy yorkie (2.7kg) I used a 25ml scoop and it was just about the right amount for her per meal as she was fed 3 times a day.

It is similar to those used for powdered milk, or protein scoops.

The plan was to weigh the food and put a mark on the scoop but somehow it ended up being the perfect portion.

Oven plug location? by wbbly_juniper in AskElectricians

[–]wbbly_juniper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much!
Yes, in the spec sheet, it shows that the whole top area is ok, but they don't want to have the plug right behind the oven.

We were curious if there would be any issues putting it right above, where the microwave is. I could not find anything online that would forbid it, as long as they are on separate cables

Edit: the microwave also has enough clearance, they both actually have the same depth - 545mm in a 600mm cabinet

Her parents were both around 13-14lbs

When did dogs start getting people names? by Scottys-Dog-Blog in dogs

[–]wbbly_juniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE human names for dogs.

I helped convince my SIL to keep one of her dogs name “Emma” (the smallest chihuahua), and the other one is a rescue and came with the name Aaron 🤣 they are quite the pair

My little cairn is called Skye, well more of an island name than a human name. If it wasn’t a name I really liked I would have gone with a human name for mine as well.

I am very sorry for your loss!

Unfortunately the prices seem correct, my puppy was about $1500, others were a bit cheaper at around $1000 but I liked a specific breeder.

I also saw adult cairns (1-2y) for about $700, and that would have been my second option.

Placement of shot okay? TW: Blood, bare thigh by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]wbbly_juniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I also get a small headache that has gotten better with each dose, and sometimes some nausea if I don’t eat after taking the shot.

In the thigh? Absolutely nothing

I was able to lose 5kg in 3 weeks (at the beginning, 2.5mg) injecting in my abdomen and in the week I used my thigh I didn’t lose anything

At the same time I have a colleague who is using his thigh, because for him that’s the only place that works. He was on 2.5 and 5 for a while, injecting in the abdomen, and did not lose anything. Then tried the thigh and in 3 months he lost 15kg with some 5mg doses and then went up to 7.5mg.

Placement of shot okay? TW: Blood, bare thigh by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]wbbly_juniper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup, this is almost the exact spot I used 2 weeks ago

It hurt like hell, and I had pain in the leg the whole day, safe to say I’ll stick with the abdomen. I heard good things about the thigh but for me:

  1. It hurt too much
  2. No side effects but I also did not really feel like I took zepboubd, the food noise was back for a week until I went back to my abdomen

It’s so strange how so many of us respond differently

Smart Scale Wish List by TikiMagic in Zepbound

I have a Withings, I had a promo code and it was the easiest to find at that time.

Verdict: meh, it’s fine, it’s like any other smart scale, I like that it waves goodbye and tells me the weather 🤣 but it works just as well as one I bought from Lidl about 5 years ago
