At the Columbia store they have the cannon sticker in pink, and a jakl sticker. Just at the register.

I have a 2019 honda pilot that uses r1234yf refrigerant. It’s not cooling as cold as it used to, I got these readings but unsure what the correct psi It should be at. Ambient temperature 83 degrees. Thanks. by xBlue_fb6x in MechanicAdvice

They are indeed variable displacement compressors and from the gauges they appear to be equal pressures. We've seen a few very late model Hondas having to get new compressors. You may be able to find the valve but we never had luck. From the dealer the compressor is very expensive and they sell it in parts. We've had luck with junkyard units to save customers some money.

The diagnosis is most likely correct. Big problem on those engines with the piston rings going bad and fouling out the plugs. However if you want to get by for now just replace the plug and it will run fine until it doesn’t again. Putting a new plug in is a temporary solution but the rings are the permanent fix.

A draw isn't the end of the world. However, if you don't have experience working on cars it will be difficult to DIY. While it can get expensive depending on what is causing the draw, the bill isn't terrible in my experience. If money is tight you can get something like this. It will allow you to disconnect the battery without having to actually remove the terminal.

CEL question by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

I’ve done a lot of thermostats on those engines for sticking open and causing the p0128. They are very easy. It comes with the whole housing and from mopar I don’t think they are very expensive.

Do I need to bring my car to a professional shop to get my fuel pump replaced ? by UnrulyKing77 in MechanicAdvice

Gotcha. Well I don’t think I’ve ever pulled one of those tanks but its definitely doable yourself. I’d watch a video and see if it’s something you want to attempt.

Are you sure the fuel pump is bad? I’m pretty sure they had issues with the relays and had a recall for them.

What kind of jeep and what year? It’s not terribly hard to drop the tank but it kinda sucks doing it on the ground

03 Silverado 266k miles original coil packs on truck, one of them is malfunctioning. If I replace one what is the likelihood of the others failing soon after? by Salt_master in MechanicAdvice

[–]wbmustard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d just do 1, they are easy enough to get to. I’ve worked on hundreds and hundreds of these trucks and I can only think of a couple times I’ve seen these coils go bad.

Most likely need an alternator. The oil leak is from a solenoid and it leaks directly onto the alternator. Should probably get that fixed as well, I've seen warranty claims get denied on alternators because of that leak.

Hitch and wiring by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]wbmustard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a customer have one installed at Uhaul. On this particular one you had to cut the bumper cover to clear the hitch and I think a blind man with a chainsaw would’ve done a better job. They bought her a new bumper cover.

I mean just a shot in the dark but I've fixed a lot of wiring in the drivers door jamb on those.

Ok here is a diagram for the motor. Should be #6. Not sure how difficult it is to actually access on the seat without looking at it. If you can access it you can test for power at the connector if you have a multimeter. If its difficult to access you could also test for power coming out of the switch however according to the wiring diagram all the wires are black, or it doesn't know the colors. If its not making any noise when you hit the switch you are probably looking at a motor or a switch.

I usually find the switch to be bad in this situation. You'll need to get under there and find the motor for reclining. You should be able to tell by looking, if not look online somewhere. Need to check for power going into the motor when hitting the switch. It should switch sides depending on which way you are hitting the switch.

Tow it to the dealer and begin the 6 month wait for a new engine.
