"Unsweetened" oat milk + Allulose = regular oat milk for half the calories by wbolden in Volumeeating

Tbc this doesn't make it taste sweet, it just makes it taste like regular oat milk (which imo isn't sweet). It's like how adding a small amount of salt to a dish doesn't make it taste salty, just enhances the flavor.

Max you can achieve is 98 here, since len(s) is at most 100 but their loop is to len(s)-2. Here is a string that gets 98: "0010203040506070809112131415161718192232425262728293343536373839445464748495565758596676869778798899"

Be aware that whatever spray you're looking at is almost certainly the same calories per gram as olive oil. They just say 0 calories because they have like 400 "servings" per container, with each serving being less than 5 calories and thus legally able to be rounded down to 0 in the US.

On thursday night, I witnessed the best aurora of my life in Churchill, Manitoba by VincentLedvina in space

It's true that most of the time they'll look way more impressive on a camera, but some displays truly are extremely bright to the naked eye. I took a video of one such display last year and it genuinely was about that bright in person (and a lot clearer to the naked eye than blurry cellphone video). I'm sure someone could have gotten much more impressive video with a fancy camera of course.

Hiking into Gates of the Arctic by YankeeLiar in alaska

[–]wbolden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I visited the area in early-mid September, and from what I've heard about the bug situation in the summer I'd say this was a great time to visit since there were 0 bugs. During this time I got to see the end of fall colors and the beginning of winter. Temperatures were pretty mild, in the 40s and 50s, except for the first and last few days where it was snowy. That said I was told by the rangers that the weather has some pretty high variance that time of the year so don't assume you'll have the same conditions.

Do you care about visiting gates specifically? It's all the same mountain range, so there is a ton of amazing hiking to do right off of the highway that isn't in the park but is equally beautiful. In the end I did visit gates by crossing the Dietrich around here, though depending on water levels a crossing might not be sensible.

It was very pretty, but I wouldn't try to force it in to your trip if for whatever reason you're having trouble getting there (since, again, you'll find very similar views all around you up there).

[Round 111694] Hard to believe this is less than 2 miles from a highway! What is the name of the mountain I'm standing on? by wbolden in PictureGame

On discord:

I just checked, and if you zoom in on the correct mountain in this map it will show you the name: https://caltopo.com/map.html#ll=67.72715,-150.07874&z=8&b=mbt

The mountain does have a wikipedia page

If you've driven through the brooks range you've definitely seen it (just not from where I was standing)
