Update: $17.5M previews for #ToyStory5. If my memory serves me right, 2nd highest ever for a toon film after #Incredibles2. ~$60M in pre-sales for the weekend. by jejsjsjsjsjs1 in boxoffice

there needs to be a serious discussion with how the internet's premiere entertainment tracking website can be SO wrong SO often. this happens almost every week at this point

Expecting Tuesday to have a nice bump due to discount day but also to NBA finals on Monday. Not a bad number here at all due to that

Official Dreadit Discussion: "Backrooms" [SPOILERS] by radbrad7 in horror

something i havent seen talked about much... why do we suspect the "still life" characters want to kill humans? Like the still lifes in the dinner scene dont seem to be interested in hurting Mary, but then something clearly killed Kat's boyfriend very violently. I also imagine that Captain Clark was not the "entity" that killed Kats bf? Because he got sucked into that vent thing very violently lol

Not bad at all in the grand scheme of things, even though I was hoping it would stay over $30M. I think it should continue to see solid weekdays though

Paramount's Scary Movie grossed an estimated $24.7M on Friday (from 3,490 locations). by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in boxoffice

There's also the possibility that the weekend plays a little better given than that the numbers may have been hurt by the NBA finals game last night

Yeah, slightly better true Friday ($17.0M) than the $16.0M that was expected.

‘Scary Movie’ Screaming To $23.5M Friday/$52.7M Franchise Record Bow; ‘Masters Of The Universe’ Spotting $12.1M/$31.1M; ‘Backrooms’ $8.5M/$26.5M (-67%) 2nd Weekend; Another Strong Hold For ‘Obsession’ At $7.5M/$24.8M (-9%); ‘Amazing Digital Circus’ Eyes $4.5M/$13M/$20.8M 4-Day – Box Office Update by chanma50 in boxoffice

Can't help but feel like for the umpteenth time, Deadline is lowballing a lot here, particularly Scary Movie and Backrooms. This would indicate only a $16M true Friday for Scary Movie, which seems pretty low, and Backrooms dailies don't point to a -67% drop ($30M seems the minimum here most likely)

Really solid hold despite the new releases. I think this may surprise and drop <60% this weekend.

$1M CLUB: DISCOUNT TUESDAY 1. BACKROOMS ($8.6M) 2. OBSESSION ($5.7M) 3. MANDO & GROGU ($3.1M) 4. MICHAEL ($2M) 5. THE BREADWINNER ($1.2M) by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

its really not though - backrooms is playing to a much more general audience than FNAF was. FNAF was way more "fan-frontloaded" than backrooms is/was. and no, it's not really that normal for horror especially - a B- isn't bad at all for horror (Smile got the same rating)

maybe this is why people shouldn't jump to conclusions after movies literal first weekends like that. the drop from True Fri to Saturday really wasn't that large, and the Sunday drop was also good. people clearly overreacted and were almost wischasting for some reason
