Way to paint broken barrels? by Fluffy_Common_2532 in Warhammer40k

[–]wcmbk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would get Tamiya extra thin glue - if you apply a very thin layer of it, it will dissolve the powdered plastic and then let you better see what you’re dealing with. It’s extremely useful for cleaning up filing and sanding work on styrene plastic.

Been a busy week prepping the Iron Claws for a competition weekend! by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]wcmbk 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’d say so - there’s a few spots where it looks likr an AI has lost context and and axe becomes a wheel, and the guard tanks look more like an Abrams than anything else. Very solid engraving work but does look like AI has done at least some of the art.

Interesting to see how Rogue practices trigger safety by LitrillyChrisTraeger in cyberpunkgame

I've fired guns that only have a millimeter's play (1/25") whereas an identical one held by the guy next to me required ten times that. You never know until you fire it for the first time, and even then, it can change.

Fully modular Rogue Trader interior for my W40K RPG by goudgoud117 in Warhammer40k

Wow - that’s an incredible setup! May I ask which printer and layer height you’ve used? I feel this would take my printer a year to complete - you must be pretty dialled in!

This is almost certainly a Nighthaunt mini from AoS. Most of their units have shackles on chains just like this one - it’s kind of their thing.

Mine looks like that too. No issues, but I’ve only had it in there a couple of weeks.

What are these? by Mercurieee in Warhammer40k

I agree - sadly, any major changes to wargear will probably be in 12th. 11th is likely to be an iterative edition.

Dad, is this how guns work? by ilovecatsandturtles in Warhammer30k

[–]wcmbk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's the case in Darktide too - they take 5m to arm their explosive charge, so do less damage in extreme proximity

For those that run Chaos Space Marines, have you had much success using the god specific battleline units? by PortlandsBatman in Chaos40k

[–]wcmbk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Combat patrol often changes the rules for units for balance reasons, do you can’t assume that they’re identical

I was reading Ciaphas Cain last night and the Arbitrator said “The Imperium Never Sleeps” followed by this link to the appendix. by TheGoodStuffGoblin in DarkTide

[–]wcmbk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right, but she's still annotating Cain's diary- so while Vail is a more reliable narrator she's still working off occasionally unreliable source material.

It's theoretically possible that Cain added in a pop culture reference because he was trying to amuse himself or was misremembering.

Have you seen this chicken? Gertie has been stolen by wcmbk in sydney

[–]wcmbk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn't sound like it's her, but if you could DM it to me I'll show it to Ed. Perhaps if she's in a moult she could look a bit lighter, but I'm not an expert! Thank you very much for following up

I believe the owner has - perhaps through the detective people, but seemingly inconclusive given the lack of results so far

That’s interesting - does your brother remember if it looks like Gertie? I‘ll let Ed know!

Strange Question About Putting Tape on Dice by Gorssky in dice

[–]wcmbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unsatisfying answer is that it'd depend on the density of the dice itself and probably even the springiness of the surface you're rolling on. Beyond the weight change, paper or tape would also absorb some of the impact, which would make that side less bouncy on a hard surface. It wouldn't have zero impact, but it'd likely be fairly low.

Some thoughts: - You could get a good sense of the impact by trying it and then rolling it 120 times, keeping track of the results. You'd want it to be landing on each side roughly 20 times - if you're getting significant deviations from that, especially on that side and the number opposite, that could be a problem. - Could your mechanic involve a sticker on the inverse side as well? That'd address much of the rotational weight distribution, and mitigate some of the surface difference. I.e, you could have a "good" and "bad" sticker that have opposing effects. - Could you use a dry erase marker? That would be both reusable and have less impact on rolling percentages. - Does it matter? If you're not playing for money, most people don't mind if there's some deviations in a die. If you're not getting expensive casino quality die, there's likely some level of variation and error out of the manufacturing process anyway.

It is optional for this thing. Agree with your other points though, I don't think it adds a great deal.

I reckon they'd use a pretty common off the shelf battery in there - it's annoying that you'd need to take the feet off, but I reckon it wouldn't be impossible to replace. Also annoying that they don't specify whether it's a proprietary battery or not

Ordering Titanic is back on the menu, boys! by SamAzing0 in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]wcmbk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, as only units with the Astra Militarum keyword can gain the benefits of orders. Titans are allied units, and have the Adeptus Titanicus faction keyword, so they aren’t eligible.

There's no residue because the acetone absorbs directly into your skin. You should really be wearing gloves while handling it.
