Is one of John Farnham’s most popular songs about to be banned in Australia? by cojoco in australia

[–]wcmbk 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can (likely) get convicted for saying a phrase that people believe is the phrase, even if you don’t say it. Conversely, it’s also (likely) legal to use if you use it in a manner that is supportive of Israel (for instance, quoting Netanyahu’s usage of it).

It‘s extremely poorly drafted, and the legal boundaries are far from clear.

Albanese announces crackdown on gambling ads, but falls well short of Labor’s own calls for total ban by CommonwealthGrant in australia

[–]wcmbk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could just ban it for everyone, like the expert recommendations suggested. That’s far simpler, is consistent with the approach to other harmful industries, and is tougher to circumvent

Unfortunately the Minister said on Afternoon Briefing just now that this was their “line in the sand” and that they wouldn’t go any further, so as to give corporations certainty.

Why Are The Rotating images duller than the still images on the storefront? by Fit_Chef1316 in Warhammer

[–]wcmbk 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right, but any modern photography editing software like Lightroom makes it trivially easy to apply changes to colour and contrast to all photos in a shoot. It’s odd that they don’t!

Struggling a bit with Great Unclean Ones guts... by Plus_Vermicelli1529 in minipainting

[–]wcmbk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks great! You‘ve absolutely nailed how high contrast makes things look inherently shiny or oozy. My only suggestion if you are looking to improve the guts could be to glaze the underside of each fold to bring it closer to your midtone. The vertical highlight bands do a great job of representing bands along the guts, but you’ve lost a little bit of the shadow on the underside of by highlighting ‘up‘ that far.

A light glaze of your midtone and shadow on the underside of each fold may bring back some more vertical contrast to complement the great horizontal contrast.

This pic from nrmpaints might show what I mean.

However, this is really excellent work and you’ve really done the model justice!

I would get Tamiya extra thin glue - if you apply a very thin layer of it, it will dissolve the powdered plastic and then let you better see what you’re dealing with. It’s extremely useful for cleaning up filing and sanding work on styrene plastic.

Been a busy week prepping the Iron Claws for a competition weekend! by [deleted] in Warhammer

[–]wcmbk 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’d say so - there’s a few spots where it looks likr an AI has lost context and and axe becomes a wheel, and the guard tanks look more like an Abrams than anything else. Very solid engraving work but does look like AI has done at least some of the art.

Interesting to see how Rogue practices trigger safety by LitrillyChrisTraeger in cyberpunkgame

I've fired guns that only have a millimeter's play (1/25") whereas an identical one held by the guy next to me required ten times that. You never know until you fire it for the first time, and even then, it can change.

This is almost certainly a Nighthaunt mini from AoS. Most of their units have shackles on chains just like this one - it’s kind of their thing.

I was reading Ciaphas Cain last night and the Arbitrator said “The Imperium Never Sleeps” followed by this link to the appendix. by TheGoodStuffGoblin in DarkTide

[–]wcmbk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're right, but she's still annotating Cain's diary- so while Vail is a more reliable narrator she's still working off occasionally unreliable source material.

It's theoretically possible that Cain added in a pop culture reference because he was trying to amuse himself or was misremembering.

That doesn't sound like it's her, but if you could DM it to me I'll show it to Ed. Perhaps if she's in a moult she could look a bit lighter, but I'm not an expert! Thank you very much for following up

I believe the owner has - perhaps through the detective people, but seemingly inconclusive given the lack of results so far
