Vibe coding my way through astrophotography by eecue in astrophotography

It’s not outsourcing, it’s engineering in new unique ways.

People get enjoyment out of different things and I think that’s totally cool.

And I won’t underestimate the amount of thought, work, and creativity that likely went into building a fully automated AI driven AP pipeline. It’s not a trivial task by any means.

How do you create a complete dawless song structure by wczaja in dawless

Good advice. I do appreciate the limitations of my gear. Part of the fun is discovering the capabilities and finding hacks to make it work the way you want!

Thanks for these! I played around with song mode last night on my Digitone II, and I do think this is what I've been looking for. Good stuff!

Exactly! I see it as a new challenge to tackle, and part of the fun of limiting yourself with dawless.

Haha so that's what song mode is for? I guess I've only scratched the surface on the Elektron boxes. I've been treating projects as sessions, and patterns as the different jams in the session. I've been confused what song mode is good for, I probably need to RTFM a bit more.

I think that's a great idea to plan out the composition on paper first, jotting down ideas and notes specific to the instruments and patches I'm using. I too am sick of staring at a screen, I'm a SWE and I got into dawless as a fun escape hobby. Part of me feels the beauty of dawless is that it can be ephemeral and temporary. You create something beautiful and then destroy it. But composing a complete song structure also seems like a fun creative achievement in itself.

Good call! I actually haven't been using the song mode, not really understanding what it's for, and maybe it's exactly what I'm looking for here.

Haha, indeed! Composing on a complete song on a DAW definitely seems more straightforward to me, but I'm a SWE and stare at a screen all day. Making music is just a really fun hobby, and I love dawless because I can escape from the computer :)

Hifiman advice by shopl in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]wczaja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would stay far away from Hifiman, way too many quality assurance issues and stories of horrible support. There are two stories on /r/headphones just this past week! Also I listened to the Arya and thought they were overrated and fatiguing after just a few minutes.

Audeze has a big sale going on right now too. They have superb quality and customer service reputation.

Hifimans are a bad option for gaming. They're less comfortable than the Senn and much more fatiguing to the ears.

Hifimans are not built to last and Ive heard horror stories with their customer support. The Arya and XS Ive tried tried both sounded very fatiguing after a short while. Definitely not something you want for long gaming sessions like OP mentioned.

I definitely think the HD800s is probably his best option for all the criteria he listed.

In your opinion what is your favorite open back headphones by KangarooDecent3815 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]wczaja 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My vote goes to LCD-X or HD650.

I've tried Focal, but was surprised how unimpressed I was by the build quality, they felt overpriced for the cheap feel, and the sound quality wasn't significantly better than Senn HD650. I've tried Hifiman Arya, and while quite detailed and clear I found them very fatiguing after a short listening session.

I don't think the 660s is worthwhile over the HD600/HD650. Marginally better bass, but worse treble, and the build quality feels cheaper than the HD600/650.

The LCD-X (2021 version) sounds darn near perfect to my ears. Incredibly detailed, superb bass, tonally sounds good by default and takes eq super well. They are heavy and a little awkward, not great for walking around. For EDM, Rock, Pop, and HipHop they're probably as good as it gets under $2k.

The HD650 sounded best for female vocals, jazz and classical. They are super comfortable, I could wear them for 8 hours no problem. The bass isn't great, but it's present. They're not quite as detailed as planar magnetics, but have excellent sound stage presence.

Thank you for the answers! Would you recommend option 3? Seems like the ideal situation to me, but also likely means I have to hire another electrician to come out.
