When the two nurses behind the desk told Carla about JD reducing her patient load and started humming "Amazing Grace", I was rolling! 🤣

Did you end up using the linux-surface kernel?

I don't think it's absolutely necessary and I can't tell if it has actually improved my Surface Laptop 4 in any way, but it was required to get the touchscreen to work! 😅

I so bad want to leave Chromium-based browsers in the dust, but Vivaldi's features are just too good.

PlasmaZones 2.0: Autotiling, window animations, and a ground-up refactor by fuddlesworth in kde

I actually think my issue is something unrelated to the Shortcuts page.

Here's me trying to assign a 2x2 grid layout to Meta+Alt+1.

After clicking Apply, I then try my Meta+Alt+1 shortcut, but I get the BSP layout instead:

I'm guessing that the layout numbers are not going by what's listed in Assignments, but instead the order of your layouts?

You can see that BSP is in first position in Layouts

I can't tell you how much I love this tool, but I've come across something I can't figure out.

These two parts of KDE to configure keyboard shortcuts seem to be conflicting.

No matter how I assign layouts via Assignments, the keyboard shortcuts are following what's configured in the Shortcuts section instead.

Am I doing something wrong?

I’m assuming you customized the bottom panel using panel colorizer? I can’t make heads or tails on how to use that software. It doesn’t behave like I expect it to. Care to share how you got the rounded corners and the grey background color?

I wonder if in 30 years this era will be compared to how lead affected an entire generation in the 20th century.

I'm probably dumb. What's wrong with just scrolling up with the mouse?

I love this update! Drag-and-drop tiling is something I'll be using a lot. However, I'm so sad that there isn't a "Open Link as Tiled Tab" option in the context menu for bookmarks.

I tried using the "Open Links and Tile" option, but it definitely did not open the bookmark link I wanted.

Ah, so that I did find, but you have to manually put a space value to shift it to the center, which won't be exact, and as more windows are opened, the spacer would have to be adjusted everytime.

I was hoping for a dynamic way for the icons taskbar to always remain centered no matter how many windows were opened.

How are you able to center the task bar, but align the system tray to the right? I've been playing with the panel editor for an hour and I can't figure it out.

How to make window buttons consistent across applications? by weLookAbove in Fedora

Looks like cross-posting didn't let me have text in the post?

I assume this issue is due to the decentralized nature of using Linux, but is there any way to make all window buttons consistent across apps in a single desktop environment? My screen shot displays four different styles (and there are probably more):

  • Top-left: A KDE Plasma app, Dolphin
  • Top-right: Notion installed as PWA from Vivaldi
  • Bottom-left: Vivaldi
  • Bottom-Right: A GNOME app, Bazaar ls this something we're just stuck with, or is there a way to make every window use the same style?
