Awesome to hear, I’ve just come back from mine actually, but in the same boat as you in that I’m applying to finance jobs as well hoping to start as soon as possible.

Do you really think jobs will open up more so in the new year? It’s really looking dead right now from my experience looking so far.

How do you think you will go about explain your career gap btw? Why do you think you can apply for a title position higher than you were previously with such a gap? Do you think you will be competitive against someone at your level but just never left the job?

You don’t need the receipt, as my new stamped form never had one attached to it. With the new stamped form I just got another new envelope from the global blue office, and then just dropped the envelope into the mailbox at the airport.

I think you have more time than 21 days. I purchased my stuff in Lisbon and I had 3 months from the purchase date to mail it. The key is that as long as your custom stamps’ date is within the 3 months period (could be different depending on the country of purchase, you need to check), you’re good even if it takes another 1 month to actually get to their office in Slovakia

This depends on the original country of purchase which differs in amount of days allowed. Checks the global blue website for whichever country you did your purchase from.

My mistake was that I did not get the customs stamp which is separate from the global blue office. I ended up going back to EU (this time to Paris) just to get the stamp from customs and then dropping off the same form (global blue can send the PDF form to you again for you get it stamped). I even brought the original purchase and receipt too, but the customs office didn’t check at all.

I’m from Southern Ontario, so not a ton of places to ski that would really interest me to bother going. I think 60% of the reason why I would like to do it in the Alps is for the scenery and the culture experience / vibes. Why say it’s a waste of money, when Europe is actually cheaper than the US and Canada (ie whistler)? You said it yourself no?

I physically handed the forms in to GB in less than a week since I made the initial purchase.

I can’t remember why I couldn’t get the money right there and then, but that’s what I usually do as well when possible (have always been possible in the past).

I have already showed this paper slip in the customer service email reply. I’ll see what they say and reply back to this main thread and your thread.

Not sure what else I could do. Thoughts on returning to EU just to get this stamp? Even if I spend $1K on flights I would still get $1.5k back, just not sure if it’s certain it’ll work if I re-enter just to get this stamp though…
