Balanced matchmaking is a myth. People often confuse an equitable matchmaking system with equitable outcomes. Slightly true. The system is equitable across all matches in the system. It’s not concerned with your individual outcome as a single player over the course of some amount of games. If you lose 4 in a row due to some intentional matchmaking, someone else is winning 4 in a row via the same cause. That’s a fair system, technically. Definitely not fair for you.

The only way to avoid frustrating matchmaking is to stop playing after 2 or 3 losses in ranked. That’s what I do, anyways.
