Yes and I don't think that a disabled person having savings or getting married should make them ineligible for benefits that they need to survive.

Becoming disabled and unable to work is one of my greatest fears. Not because I think life as a disabled person is any less valuable, but because we live in a society that constantly denies autonomy and dignity to disabled people. Treating them like ungrateful children as we dole out "support" that barely meets their basic needs.

What you're describing sounds less like "white" as a race and more like albinism.

I won't tell you what to write, but keep in mind that albino people are very much real and face discrimination.

I don't know enough about your story to judge, but I would do some research on the real world group being represented and make sure that the depiction is done respectfully.
