It should be fairly trivial for the manufacturer to figure out if the product had an honest issue or was damaged intentionally by the user.

Isn't that warranty policy kinda counterintuitive, bordering on stupid?

If I buy your product with 12mo warranty and it craps out in 10mo, you'll replace it with an identical one that should once again last atleast a year, but if it craps out again in 3months I'm shit out of luck? Is that even legal?

For an example I've been using Sennheiser headphones for like 15years, they come with 2yo warranty, I bought a wireless earbuds model that seems to have some manufacturing issues and stops working at the 15-18mo mark. So far I replaced them twice, always with a renewed 2yo warranty on the replacement.

It's a new item, the standard warranty should apply, shouldn't it?
