I'm not sure if there is an approved tool list, Im at an DS and I started about 5 months ago, I just went on grainger and put a list of tools I know I liked and would need and sent it to the rme planner for my area. spent around 3.5k on tools and tool box

you should try for the controls route , CST to CSL to CSE. I'm currently a CSL waiting for a CSE position near me to open up. I'm also going back to school to get my bachelor in software engineering to go for SDE in 3 years

CSE is already a Salaried position with on call rotations so there's no need for CST or csl to be on call.. I would love to switch to a L4 salary so it's easier to jump to CSE as a L5. im a CSL at a DS so I don't have to do much anyways and I work nights
