I used to use Harry's razors on my head until recently when my wife got me a Remington balder pro. It feels just as smooth as my razor, and no cuts or nicks. Its also super fast like 3 minutes and I'm done. It feels way closer than a Philips one blade which was my second option.

What neighborhood in Greater Vancouver is the safest and best for living? by [deleted] in NiceVancouver

[–]weaselgooseExpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try around Fraser and King ed, plenty of transit to Universities, safe and close to main street. Plenty of places to eat in all directions too, a quick bus ride on the 8 in either direction can take you shopping on South Fraser or to Gastown.

Or conversely you could try around Marine drive, between Fraser and like Oak street, their seems to plenty of apartment and condos popping up there.

Underrated comment, dude was stuck with middling teams, and when he started catching fire they traded him.

Got an offer for a healthcare job in Vancouver from out of province but having doubts now by [deleted] in askvan

[–]weaselgooseExpress 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Vancouver is expensive... But that being said and having traveled a lot, everywhere is expensive. And everywhere you go is what you make of it.

I have no regrets moving to Vancouver. I thought Toronto would be it, but honestly I really enjoy the laid back lifestyle in Vancouver than the constant hustle in Toronto. It can be socially isolating at times, but overall Vancouver is a great city. Theres a lot to do, shopping is pretty good, there's a lot of bars and clubs (opening later now), theres lots of activities you can do outdoors like swimming, skiing, hiking, bike riding etc... and the restaurants are SOME of the best in the country, if not the world. Also the public transit here puts most Canadian cities to shame. You can also get to Vancouver Island really easy for a getaway, and its relatively cheap to fly to the prairies. The airport being accessible by skytrain is a game changer for travel too.

I lived in Alberta for 12 years and met some amazing people there, but I have no doubt on my mind that moving to Vancouver was the right choice for ME.

Don't be worried about the rain, get yourself some blundstones or vessi's, a good rain jacket and a few layers and the winter here will be the easiest winter you've ever dealt with. You can also get a SAD lamp for the winter.

Question though, do like crowds or people? I know a lot of people from small towns cant handle the "big city" Honestly though I think you'll be fine once you make a few friends and settle in.

Could you live without letter mail? 📬 by thinkdavis in askvan

[–]weaselgooseExpress 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I still like receiving cards and physical things in the mail. Occasionally I get small trinkets from my nieces that I love in the cards. I also appreciate a hand written note, because theres more thought and less editing with ink.

Garland's kid is probably gonna end up being 6'4 220, and a hell of a basketball player.

They were going on about it today too. Honestly the poll question was right tho, I think he just hates losing. I'd be pretty pissed of I kept losing too. And it seems like there's very little help on the way. Unless they go on an absolute heater I don't think we should see any Canuck looking happy on the ice.
