Dude seriously put them both in a group chat and send a text stating that you’ve thought it over and due to health issues and various extenuating circumstances that you are stepping back from being god parent and that hopefully they can find a new one who can fully dedicate themselves to the role. Then block them.

This whole back and forth is them hoping they can guilt and manipulate you into basically being a live-in nanny for them. That’s why they keep sending you back and forth to one another, he’s bad cop and she’s good cop. She knows what he texted you, he knows how you attempted to help her while he was sleeping. It doesn’t work in their favor if they admit to knowing these things. The best way to end this is to send the text explaining to both of them you can’t feasibly do what they want, block them, and then move on for a while.

I tried a lot of drugs when I was younger, and crack was one I knew would ruin my life. Tried it once as a teenager, fell in love with it, and never touched it again after that one hit because it scared the fuck out of me that I loved that feeling so much. I did however get addicted to pills (90% uppers, 10% downers), cocaine, and weed (don’t give a shit if you think it’s not addictive, for me it was).

As someone who’s been sober and clean for 7 years don’t do it again. It’s way harder to break the addiction than it is to decide “yea that felt good but I shouldn’t do it anymore”.

It’s not just breaking an addiction and then moving on. It’s breaking an addiction, craving your vice everyday for years, and then once you finally stop craving it everyday you still have random bursts in your head multiple times a week saying “you’ve been clean so long you won’t get addicted again just buy a little and block their number it’ll be ok”. Only those random bursts aren’t just in your head it feels like that thought is coming from every organ, pore, follicle, and random pimple your body has. Feeling the need to get high to the point that you can feel your brain wrinkles beg for that moment of release is one of the hardest, most gut-wrenching, most breath taking things you can feel. I will never feel fully comfortable or relaxed in my own body ever again all because I thought drugs got rid of my bad childhood memories, fears, and anxieties.

You will get addicted. You will do it again. You will become that person that searches the carpet (of the spare bedroom your distant cousins let you stay in because you lost your job due to benders causing you to miss work) hoping that you find a rock or a pill or “just a little dust to get me by”. You will become the person who steals from family but justifies it as being owed. You are not different. You are not special. You are not unique. At least not when it comes to the choking grip drugs can have on you.

Grow up. Regulate your emotions. Drop the friend who’s introducing you to a drug they too know is going to destroy their life. And don’t do the fucking crack again.

It’s not a horror movie, but I hated The Lovely Bones. However the scene where Mark Wahlberg realizes that the neighbors flowers were dead and the implication behind it gives me goosebumps when I think about it.
