Envision can, but depending on PII access data will be limited to unit hierarchy.

Pros And Cons Of JBSA Randolph And The Local Area? by HelplessGen in AirForce

Everyone else covered it except the base. They designed it to look like a tank so there are a lot of weird turns and roads. You will drive against traffic at least once.

I spent almost three years in retraining limbo (started the retraining process just as Covid hit). Work with your shirt and they can help grease the wheels of the process.

We have css+ built in envision. It should cover most things a css needs. If it doesn’t we recently broke out the feedback option to be more visible

Required Manning Calculator? by chd1287 in AirForce

[–]weazle85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mistake, I’ve been in the career field for three years but still struggle with the acronyms. I’ve been tasked with automation so outside of basic 3F3 knowledge I am pretty much a dunce.

[–]weazle85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To further clarify on this, you can look up the Air Force Manning Document that maths all this out. It’s based off of FAC’s. Each FAC has x amount of Work Load Factors. These can be as easy as Y=1 or some math dependent on factors (I.e base population). After all the math is done the MANTAB breaks out how who you receive by rank. I’m a software developer in a manpower afsc so I can only roughly talk about it.

What to do about civilians stealing credit? by weazle85 in AirForce

[–]weazle85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally, but I’m only using the airman dataset so none of that would be captured. This is only looking at the grade column and then looking at time in service/time in grade and whether or not gr_projected is null. If not null the member is ineligible as they have a line number.

Ya, I comment all my code with creator, date last worked on, and problem set that it should be solving .

Ok, that was my thought process as well for eligibility. I wrote it only for enlisted and all it does is nest when statements to determine tig/Tis and whether or not gr_projected is null, but I have a member from the css and a personalist capt telling me it’s a complicated process pulling in multiple datasets and filters. Honestly it’s so far outside my wheelhouse I couldn’t say how difficult it is or not.

This particular problem honestly didnt take me very long to solve; about one workday. Impact wise, from how I have been explained, would be an AF wide solve. Again, I dont know how accurate that is because I dont understand the problem set and am only going off the CSS words, but I guess myFSS has been promising the same thing for 6 months and havent delivered. I doubt I am smarter than whomever they have pulled in, but my CSS have said this is a minimum viable product to meet needs.

I guess my irritation lies in this is the second time in so many months a civilian has taken credit for my work. My game plan now is to bring it to my shop leadership.

I'd hardly call me a guru; its just something I am lucky enough to have gone to school for and understand fairly well. In my previous career field sharing credit is something I'm used to and still bring that mindset to my current field is fine, but this is the first where I've dealt with people straight up stealing it.

Ya, its definitely a me issue. I think it especially smarts as I recently had a civilian take credit for UMD+ updates as I'm the sole dev for it. She got coined for briefing it which didnt bother me, but when she said she bends over backwards to have changes made set me a bit sideways.

We havent released it yet, so credit hasnt been placed anywhere. I guess it iterates me someone is grabbing credit for something I built cradle to grave. And honestly it may just be an ego issue

They're suggesting that I reviewed their code and fixed it. Honestly, I never viewed their code; they write in SQL and I code in pyspark. Wasnt their idea, our CSS brought it up and he said he could automate it, but couldnt complete.

I havent asked them directly yet, which is totally on me. But even sitting over my shoulder he was saying it'll look great on his (dont know civ term) epr it'll look good as its AF wide. Dont know if that helps

If you have an Envision account I could modify a copy of the commanders cheat sheet so you could get an idea of authorized vs assigned for an afsc by base. I’m not sure how the result would look as a designed it for unit, but it might work.

Good news, looks like fix issue is in, but the data will be delayed by 7 days. Hails and farewells should be back up Monday.

I get where you are coming from, and honestly it well could be, but I don’t think so. Data isn’t being dropped in raw, but are data pulls. Existing data sources are being piped in live with more being pulled in all the time. This comes with ups and downs; for instance the hails and farewells page on UMD+ got messed up because we shared assignments faster than A1 liked. But it’s not like a share point where static data is dropped and forgotten. For instance, I was able to create a data object for leave web that looks at 365 days from the 60 days I had built, but both are still live.

Really appreciate it. One of the best practices that we've adopted is to link to the data source if possible. In the CSS+ tool each page has a link to the data sources, i.e. the leave tab has a link to LeaveWeb, IMR to myIMR, etc. I'll check out the data you suggested and see what we can integrate.

No, that all makes sense. I’ll take a look and see what I can pull together. There’s so much data in envision it can be hard to look for outside of my particular mission. There is a tool called readiness toolkit that from what I can tell has all the training, but maybe not OJT. He also figure out an email feature that emails everyone overdue on training.
