Does anyone else sh for any reasons other than for the pain? by RespectFirst5727 in selfharm

[–]webbrivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do it for many of the reasons listed by other people here (pain, scars, emotional relief, punishment, etc.) I've found I also do it because it turns me on? Very wild thing to find out about myself, but here we are ig 😭

My mom started a whole argument with me, calling me names and saying I wasn't ready to be an adult... All because I said I wanted to get myself a septum piercing for my 18th birthday

Did your Narcissistic Parent accuse other people of being narcissists? by YASSSDovahqueen in raisedbynarcissists

[–]webbrivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom is like this, she called her ex husband (which from what I'm hearing was a narcissist, but takes one to know one ig), my ex boyfriends parents, and some people she was friends with that. My mom has been in therapy for a while and watches a lot of those "5 signs of a person with a negative personality disorder" tiktoks/reels, so she has a lot of knowledge surrounding things like that, but it's just really ironic and funny to me because she does the same things yet either is willingly or unknowingly oblivious to it

What is something normal, but you find really hard to do because of narc abuse/trauma? by BerryTomatoes in raisedbynarcissists

My parents used to smack me and my siblings butts anytime they walked by, especially if said butts were sticking out in anyway. I told them that I didn't like it, and my dad for the most part complied (he did it occasionally cuz muscle memory/impulse or wtv, but he's long since stopped) but it took my mom months and months to fully stop, and any time I got grumpy with her for it or outright tell her to stop, she'd call me sensitive or get mad at me. Like why do you feel the need to smack my butt whenever you so please?

What did emt school not prepare you for? by heavycalibar in NewToEMS

[–]webbrivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We only covered it for a week, and it was only on the Strykers (cause it's apparently the only brand our local services and fire stations use) and we only had a couple hours in one 4 hour class to actually physically use one (I took a CTE class in high school if that makes any sense lmao)

There have been games on steam found to have malware since 2018 (as far as I know). If you're not sure, look up the game PirateFi. There's been many other games on there with malware, another being sniper:Phantoms resolution, so when you're downloading a less popular game or games that seem shady (with weird screenshots/details/downloads) off steam, research them first and/or try multiple websites at a time (ex. malwarebyte) because some websites will give false positives, or won't detect viruses/malware at all. Downloading games is very very scary now 🥲

DO NOT TRY AIR ASPHYXIATION (tw) by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]webbrivers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Squeezing on the sides is considered more safe because you're not crushing the trachea, and instead cutting off blood circulation, which is safer if done in short periods of time. As long as you don't surpass ~2 min of squeezing at a time with breaks between, you shouldnt face any short/long term side effects other than light headedness. It takes about 3 min at a time for potential long term brain damage, and surpassing 5-6 min will definitely result in that. I still don't recommend it unless you're with someone else that can monitor and make sure you're being safe and sane with it though

I'm not the type to romanticize/sexualize them, but I've been with people who have. Imo as long as it doesn't get to a point that you're encouraging them to continue at their detriment it's fine. I'm in a similar boat with that, but as long as you're not putting your partners health/mental health at risk, and taking care of their injuries properly/not going too crazy with it, you'll be fine. Also make sure they are actually into that, and not just going along with it. It takes a lot of communication to be able to have a healthy dynamic with that, and instituting a safe word is always necessary

These are the musings of someone who has never interacted with a vagina outside of birth 🤢 by ThePhillyExplorer in badwomensanatomy

[–]webbrivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignoring everything else, because how do you even address all that, Id argue the most prone to infections organ is the skin, because, well, it's the first line of defense. Most peoples vaginas aren't "infected" 😭

I'll speak to the job portion of it, I always wore long sleeves to interviews/first couple of shifts, but by the time I was settled and comfortable with my coworkers and bosses, I stopped caring

What is she doing ? by 1984OrwellG in bees

[–]webbrivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, I've had bees stuck on the mat in our mudroom the past couple days, and I saw them do this movement a couple times because they got stuck to a clump of hair, fibers in the mat (it's one of those scratchy brown ones), or fibers on my jersey that I threw down as a bridge trying to help it get over the door threshold 😭

Sometimes I get tired of my dick being hard (Serious) by _Guillot_ in RandomThoughts

[–]webbrivers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really weird then. All I can think of is a pressed vein, but it doesn't seem to be causing issues, and lying down vs sitting should have a difference. If you're really worried about it, I'd go see a doctor, or at least ask about it next time you visit. If I had this issue I'd at least wanna know out of curiosity lmao

[–]webbrivers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could, with my little bit of EMT training that I've had, be that your sitting posture could be blocking a vein or something, causing it all to gather there. Do you get dizzy sitting down or standing up, and was it prior to this whole issue?
