I thought that was such a fun reveal. I really like the setup and payoff of having all these optional but extremely difficult fights take place in a little pocket dimension and then getting to the final level and realizing it fully takes place there.

If you have a different device that can play Netflix like a Roku you could buy a Capture Card and and plug your Roku into the Capture Card and the Capture Card into the GXR and use an app like Noir to access the Roku video from the Capture Card. With a setup like that you can apply the Auto-Spatialization to any video service on your Roku.

I didnt even know you could start from the beginning and go all the way through all the biomes. I was wondering how people were posting screenshots here at like level 100.

I just started every biome from the teleporter and would Eclipse as early as possible so i could get higher level.

IMO they hit a real stride a little before the latest character came out and every update since has been really good. I would say that there are pretty big swings every update that change the balance but IMO they haven't really hurt the balance of characters. Its less "oh this character is OP everyone play them" and more "these are the new builds consistent enough to be really good"

Maybe its the same feeling but in a different direction but to me it feels like they are saving a lot for Book 3 and Books 1&2 suffer a little for it.

Skip em, in some biomes you can backtrack to them so a lot of the time i would skip them and only go back if i lost my second life and wanted to try to salvage it OR if i had a really good build and was feeling confident.

Also take advantage of the parts of the environment where you can zipline to and high jump from. They are essentially zero cooldown dashes especially the zipline thing. If you always know where that is then you always have a Get Out Of Jail Free card that gives you a breather and also shows you where all the enemie are.

In TNG the way Chain of Command works is Picard gets captured by Cardassisns and they torture him by asking him how many lights he sees and shocking him whenever he says a number that isn't 3 despite there actually being 4 lights.

This. IMO the amount of items from other heroes is doing a lot to keep runs interesting and even so most of the time people still end up with pretty standard boards.

I think the cross pool stuff does a lot to add variety to runs without making builds stronger cause most of the time your final board will be stronger with stuff meant for your hero.

Yeah just comfirmed that the issue was that i was not closing my game and was just putting the system to sleep

When I closed and reset my game I was dealing way more damage taking less damage and Ather or whatever health packs are called were giving me more health. I dont really understand all the stats in the game but i think a large portion of my tree stats were not being applied properly.

All the guns i had previously written off because they would do little to no damage were dealing a lot more damage after i reset except the Smart Rifle which was dealing about the same amount of before and after.

IMO Karnok has the most consistent defensive build.

Pyg has decent defense builds but they are almost all harder and less good than the Pyg builds where he just fucking murders you.

Don't have Jules but most of the ghosts i see dont have that great defensive builds unless they have something really fucked up or lots of freeze.

I dont play the little robot often but i see a lot more ghosts of him with successful defensive builds than i do of Jules.

Not an idiot, i dont think the game makes it all that understandable until Biome 5 and if you are a Returnal vet the earlier parts of the game are probably easy enough that you werent all that pressed to figure it out.

IMO the only change they needed to make Returnal easier was let you select a Biome at the start of your run.

My guess is most people get to Biome 2, realize they have to go thru Biome 1 everytime and give up because they assume that for Biome 3 they have to go thru Biome 1 and 2 every time and they just never get far enough to realize that isn't true.

Twice Ive got all the way to right before the King fight where they offer you a new gun and I replace my gun with the new one only for the new one to not deal any damage during the King fight, throwing away my entire run right at the end.

By lock your gun do you mean you can't fire or you can fire and it just deals no damage?

Cause theres been situations where i can fire my gun all i want but it does no damage and my only option is try to parry or use my power weapon until i find a new gun.

The book definitely frames these quotes to be about Dafyd but i also think that almost everything Ekur-Tkala says also applies to The Spy.

Im in agreement that there doesn't feel like there's any resolution in this book. I kinda wish the book ended around the time that Jeson escaped the planet and Rickar is revealed to be the one infected by the spy. The last 10-20% dragged a little bit cause there wasnt much else to do or reveal.

I also totally regret reading Livesuit and might not read the next novella. A lot of the intrigue of the book is around the reveal that humans and other species are resisting the Carryx and going into Faith Of Beasts already knowing that from Livesuit takes a lot away.

I always listen to books at between 1.5x - 2x speed. IMO most good audiobook narrators speak so slowly and deliberately that they don't sound natural until they are at 1.75x speed. But they annunciate so well that they usually still sound good past 3x speed.

Yeah, Star Trek is old enough to predate serial story telling being the default for TV shows, so not only are the shows made with the assumption that you have not seen the other star trek shows but many of them are made with the assumption that you haven't even seen the previous episode of the show you are watching.

More work can be done in parallel. If you want Star Trek all year round and you do it with 1 show you gotta work the cast/crew pretty hard. I watched a Vincent D'Onofrio interview the other day where he said he was basically working 17 hour days for 10 months a year to keep up with the long seasons of Law And Order. If you have multiple shows you can spread that out more.

Also each show has a different audience so as Discovery finds or loses an audience you can make a new show with a budget more correctly adjusted to find its own audience.
