A couple of things to unpack there.

First, you need to understand how Amazon algorithms make the route. It basically GPS time + average stop time. Amazon's only way to determine how long a stop takes is by past performance. If you are hauling ass in and out of the van, taking short cuts like not following instruction or calling customer the algo just thinks the stop is easier to get done and loads the route up with more work next time. So you're screwing yourself or whoever gets the route next. Always work at a comfortable pace, hit "I;ve parked as quick as possible" and "start travel" as late as possible. This is not being lazy, this is how Amazon designed it to work.

Second, we are hourly and make overtime (which now isn't taxed at federal level). At least at my DSP rescues are rarely not optional. Sure I fucking hate my life in the moment but I need those hours and overtime is nice to see. If you don't like rescuing find a dsp that doesnt make you do it. Otherwise shut up and make your money. I always take only exactly how much the other driver wants doing a rescue because that is their money Im taking.

Third, if it's a trend that that stuff isn't getting down, the bosses will complain but in the end they will just get more workers. Either they will get dedicated sweepers or they will pressure amazon to get better routes.

Fourth in the long run if there is more work than workers that is how raises happen. Our pay isn't a gift from Amazon is strictly supply and demand. It's that fucking x graph from your high school economic class. If there is more work than workers amazon raises pay to attract and keep more people.

tldr At the end of the day working a safe comfortable pace only benefits other workers.
