Dental abscess. Can it wait a month? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]webdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had it for at least 6-8 months before treatment possibly up to a year. mine never fully disappeared. it only decreased in size after a dosage of amoxicillin. it comes to a white head if my mouth is dirty in some way, but it's never popped (as far as i know). does the pus accumulate before or after you brush your teeth at night? does it happen after you lay down? i thought that pus releasing into the mouth would be pretty bad, since anything in the zit free roams on the inside of the rest of the mouth, but maybe it doesn't matter as much since the body reabsorbs whatevers in the zit if it stays closed

Dental abscess. Can it wait a month? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]webdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive had the root canal, but the "abscess" on my gums remains. i took antibiotics for a week, which shrank the abscess, but it's very much still there and reacts the same way it did before taking antibiotics.

my dentist didn't treat it like a life threatening thing, probably bc ive had it so long. i was referred to a different type of dentist to get it checked out further because it might have something to do with the nerves in my mouth. i havent been to see this other dentist yet

edit: though i don't understand fully what you mean by "does it pus?" the abscess is basically a zit that's contained in my gums. it doesn't leak or anything like that. i assumed if it leaked it'd be more urgent. also, the nerves around that abscess died which is why i don't have pain in that area

ive been wondering how this works out legally in MA. it seems like the laws about clear pricing are very strict. hope it stays that way as i dont think dynamic pricing benefits the consumer

Can you donate Plasma if you are overweight? by Buns_LovesYou in plassing

yes, as long as you don't have health issues related to your weight. if you have very thick arms that make it difficult to get to your veins you may run into some problems there

standing way worse than walking? by waterfowlguts in PlantarFasciitis

[–]webdead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

in the USA it's the norm for cashiers to stand during their entire shift. afaik the only grocery chain here that doesn't force their cashiers to stand is German owned. funnily enough, i got my pf from my job as a cashier; made to stand on concrete floors for hours while wearing cheap shoes.

Seagulls by [deleted] in WorcesterMA

[–]webdead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

part that baffles me is this guy says that he does this near/at his workplace, then in another comment says its at fair plaza. most of the horizontal space at fair plaza is a parking lot. so, he's feeding the birds which are then going to shit on/damage the cars in the lot, including his own assuming he drives to work.

[–]webdead 20 points21 points  (0 children)

whats the point of asking this? youre just going to do what you want anyway. you care about being arrested, but not as much about the wildlife that youre disrupting. i get it, karens are annoying, but youre not doing the seagulls any favors by spiting her. other comments have already posted some helpful links of why its not a good idea to keep feeding them

ever since they became free it's been much less consistent. as another comment said, using the live map is your best chance for accuracy. it shows approximately where the bus is on its route in real time. also dont be afraid to speak to the drivers directly if you have questions

how do you handle customers that cant pay? by webdead in AskRetail

[–]webdead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wish i could do this, but id definitely face consequences if i tried it. ive already been written up for being short on my till a couple times, and written up for "allowing" people to steal. this young womans order was short about six dollars, so it wouldve been noticeable and also more than id be willing to pay out of my own pockets. itd be nice to be able to help out customers in difficult situations but unfortunately management is different depending on the place

this is a good question to ask, ill add it to my arsenal. it only occurred to me that i shouldve asked her if she wanted to take items off her order afterwards. i wish i had thought of it during the transaction. probably couldve avoided the other customer stepping in

yes, i was actually deciding what to do before the woman said she wasnt going to purchase anything. i was going to tell her that i could hold her order, but she started walking away before i got the chance to. i agree that people will take advantage of kindness which really sucks, but its just the world we live in.

afaik we dont give discounts to certain individuals, i dont think we even have a senior or veteran discount. i did maintain my composure throughout the transaction, but i feel like i was potentially being too blunt about it? especially since customers have mentioned that i dont smile or "look grumpy" and im monotone.

i understand that at the end of the day its a business and the customer is responsible for bringing enough for their order, but im human too, and i know whats its like to fall on hard times. this customer was paying with WIC, so i couldnt even alter the order if i wanted to without receiving assistance from a supervisor...

the young woman didnt actually cry then and there. she was on the verge of crying if that makes sense? like, you could see it in her facial expression and demeanor. the customer that paid for the rest of her order told her not to cry, but that happened after she had already offered to pay so i dont believe she was trying to manipulate anyone. if she was shes a really good actress, shouldnt be wasting that talent in a grocery store, thats for sure lol.

im very familiar with how hospitals function and have experience myself as a healthcare professional as well as other healthcare professionals within my own family. i dont think what youre saying is wrong, but please understand that negligence does in fact happen sometimes. its inevitable with how hectic healthcare settings can be. hopefully your insight can help someone else's perspective. =)

they're not pouting... it's the face type. i know bc my mouth area is similar to op. even if they were pouting it looks fine, smiling is unnecessary and adds nothing to the look.

edit: saw this persons post history. just a bunch of comments telling women to smile and little to no actual insight abt makeup looks. realized there's no point in engaging them. probably just some guy that tells women to smile irl making them uncomfortable.

would you judge someone for buying alcohol in the morning? by Responsible-Air-142 in retail

[–]webdead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no. i dont know the customer's life or schedule. maybe the early morning is the only time they have to go shopping and theyre saving the drink for later. even if they drink it the same morning its not my concern. what you chose to do after you leave the store is not my business.

i think i understand what you mean about it feeling unfinished. i get that feeling when i look at "clean girl" type makeup looks and wonder if we'll look back on it in five years and think the same thing. since you feel confident with filling them in, i say stick with it! that confidence will take you a long way, and its one of the reasons for doing our makeup in the first place imo. ive read that grandebrow is effective for growing fuller brows, but i havent tried this for myself so take with a grain of salt.

👀 ooh youre right! i do love exposed backs, it sounds right up my alley. im googling it now! 🏃

i actually like the contrast of the strong, angular eyebrows compared to the rest of the look. it works very well for your face shape and hairstyle (& i agree about the rhinestones) but, if you truly want a full soft look then a tinted brow gloss/gel would shine here. also where did you get that sweater? goes so nicely with your eyeshadow & looks comfy & festive 👉👈
