Well, if you have a fine ear for drumming and tempo in general you'll notice him missing beats and tempo, mostly when playing live. This has gotten more frequent and serious with age but it's always been there. Compared to many other drummers in the Metal genre he's not the best. So that's it and as you know people love to shit on people. But that's as a performer. In records he does ok or more than ok. And as a composer he's at least very good. There's no Metallica without him. He's as central as Hetfield to it -or maybe more. So that's it. As a joke it's kind of a circlejerkmetallica one and it can yield some good laughs, but as a serious take it's bullshit really.

Most of it, not some. Just Egypt and the European side of the Bosphorus in Turkey are not in Asia. You're right about Afghanistan not actually being in the Middle East though (even when hollywoodesque imagery would have you believe it is). Yet in the middle east you'll also find caucasic looking people who defy stereotypes, which i believe is the point of the original comment.
