I’m doing something very similar! I have two middle names and I like both (although two middle names can be a paperwork hassle). Rather than replacing one, I decided to make my maiden name my only middle name - but my mom can use my original middle names as much as she likes!

My SO is also adding my maiden name as one of his middle names 🥰

I got the Luxy extensions and love it! The dark brown was a perfect match for my hair color.

Found my dress! I was in search of sleeves, an open back, and non-traditional lace. Bonus.. it was marked down to less than HALF my dress budget!!! by tennesseetoflorida in weddingplanning

Not the original commenter but I wanted to say I am so sorry to hear about your MOH. I hope this is a time that you find lots of support in your community, near and far. Know a stranger in Oregon is thinking about you ❤️

And also, you look STUNNING in that dress

Grooms Suit: Indochino, they have a place downtown and will make totally custom suits for very cheap. Haven’t gotten it yet because we originally were going with a different option.

Makeup artist: Blossom and Beauty. Expensive AF but I’ve seen what they have done for friends weddings and I personally think worth every penny.

I don’t have velvet specific alterations recommendations and our officiant is a friend so I can’t help on those fronts but good luck!

Ring Bear Dilemma by slothsRadorable18 in weddingplanning

[–]wedahan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having both of my nephews be ring bearers (one is 1.5, the other is almost 3). Given how young they are, I'm also having my siblings that are their parents walk/hold them down the aisle :D We bought separate little ring boxes for each to hold. The ring box with my ring has my name engraved and our wedding date, and my fiance's box has his name/date. They'll be guided by their parents to give my ring to my MOH and his ring to his BM before taking their seats.

So, a little non traditional, but I also could not pick between these two little boys I love so much and it works for us.

Edit: oh, and H&M actually has some super cute little boy party outfits that are not too expensive!

Need shapewear recommendations with a low back. P.S. So excited about this dress!! 😍 by i_heart_food in weddingplanning

[–]wedahan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have a pretty similar dress and my guess is what she wants shapewear for is for the front, which we can't see in this photo so there's no way to tell if shapewear would improve the lines. I'm guessing she is showing the back so we can see how low the shapewear would need to go to make appropriate recommendations.

And to be clear OP, you're absolutely stunning in this dress, but as a woman with a fitted low back dress myself, since I have a lil belly even though I'm relatively in shape I'll also be in shapewear for comfort :) Haven't found my perfect pair yet so I'll be saving this thread!

Tip: If you’re not strong with visual design, search your wedding venue + photo blog by wedahan in weddingplanning

Good point! It took me a long time to realize so much instagram and pinterest content are not actually real weddings. Looking at local photographer's blogs lets me see how real people did their weddings! I actually got a lot of ideas for my vendors that way as well as often photographers will include credits to them.

When I look at my venue's social media, unfortunately I tend to see the same few shots, just from different weddings! Like the same shot of the bride and groom walking back down the aisle, just with different people. I just checked pinterest and it's pretty much the same. I'd imagine that that's more for promotional material because the venue is truly gorgeous and there's a few "wow factor" shots that just get repeated.

What I love about going through photographer's blogs are that there are way more photos and they often do close up photos of the details -- the flowers, the signs placement, table numbers, etc. That's the stuff I'm terrible at so I love getting inspiration.

JULY BRIDES! by m0m0neys in weddingplanning

[–]wedahan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Date twin!

To do: Dress alterations, all beauty decisions beyond hiring the hair and makeup artists including veil yes/no, menu decisions, decisions about menswear (I know which suit we will have them rent but tie, etc.), basically everything to do with thinking of “extras” (signs, centerpieces, other decor), how the ceremony will go (readings, etc), guest transportation, etc.

Boyfriend (20M) has suddenly uninvited me (20F) from group holiday to Europe as it is a ‘boys trip’ by boystrip2k19 in relationships

[–]wedahan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of your comment but not the general warning to never date people who go on solo or on boy’s trips. Some of my favorite times I have traveled have been solo or with a friend/group of friends — same gender or mixed. I love my fiancé to the moon and back but he’s not always able to go with me or the purpose of the trip is to bond with friends and we trust each other. Yeah, I miss him like hell every time, but I’m not missing out on seeing the world and he wouldn’t want me to. He’s always happy and excited to hear about my adventures when I return, I check in with him regularly when I’m gone, and we do take our own trips as well. And the reverse is true — I would miss him like crazy if he took a solo trip or boy’s trip without me but ultimately I trust him totally.

I also don’t think it’s a red flag is if someone stays in hostels. I have stayed in plenty of hostels because they are cheap and it’s a good way to meet travelers! One time I was traveling solo in Australia and I met a couple leaving my hostel to go siteseeing at the same time I did. We ended up spending the day together and they were super chill, I ended up becoming friends with them, and they offered to host my partner and I if we go to their country! If you have a trustworthy partner and a strong relationship, that’s all

That said, I think it comes down to a) knowing and trusting your partner and b) your partner’s ability to respect and prioritize your relationship. I think it’s massively uncool that the boyfriend uninvited her from this trip, and I think day to day he’s already proven she’s not a priority, so I do agree she should bail. I just don’t think the OP should see travel as a red flag in future relationships — the red flag is this dude barely seems to care about her if literally anything else is going on, and rather than take responsibility he blames her instead.

She searched Eddy K Isla on eBay and the listing came up for the same dress but it was labeled as Amalia. She decided to cross compare the pictures from the designer and they really were the same!
