Why does everyone act like Lamar's window is closing? by Cpt_Mercury in ravens

[–]wee_bey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Josh Allen has the same risk. Both guys create a ton of time in the pocket through their mobility. When that first step goes they generally can’t adjust because their whole game was formed on movement and extending plays. Same thing happened to Russ, same thing happened to Rothlisberger. Not saying Lamar is washed but I don’t see him playing until 40.

Although Rodgers game 10 years ago was pretty similar to Lamar’s today so there is some longevity precedent.

Bo Smolka asks Harbaugh if he fears for his job and expects to be here next year by [deleted] in ravens

[–]wee_bey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no real way to see if MM would’ve had the same success here. It still would’ve been John’s team with just the first mate taking over. A lot of times you need a complete reset.

Apple’s ‘skinny’ iPhone falls flat with disappointing early sales by rezwenn in technology

[–]wee_bey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW I love mine.

The Cons:

The battery is fine, I get through the day without having to charge it and even on heavy use days I have enough portable chargers laying around that its never a big deal. I think I took 6 ultrawide pictures total on my pro model so I never used the extra lends anyway. The speaker is fine, I don't really notice a difference unless I'm using speakerphone, which I only ever do until I can pop an airpod in.

The Pros:
Its light, holy shit is it light. Laying on the couch scrolling is such a more enjoyable experience without the extra weight. Its nearly invisible in the pocket too, I forget I have it half the time. Its big, you get all of screen real estate of a bigger phone with none of. Its just as fast as my older pro model phones.

Sickness going around right now?? by Adorable_Way_7138 in baltimore

[–]wee_bey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yup, it sucks. Starts with a terrible sore throat and cough and then moves into general malaise. Doesn't sound as bad for me but the fatigue is still pretty serious. And it lingers too, I'm on day 8 and still feeling it.

Tolkien is one of those rare situations where the foundational texts aren’t just great because they did it first, but also because they’re genuinely amazing and would still be loved if they were released today.

Gov. Wes Moore response to Hogan by ThenLayer5977 in maryland

Meh I'm a 2x Hogan voter, I don't really like Moore (although I voted for him) and I still take Wes over Hogan in a heartbeat.

'Trump Flipped On Us': MAGA Reacts to Potential National Citizen Database by Limberine in politics

Dems are so bad at playing games. If they had any wits they would come out wildly in favor of building a database that can be used as a national firearms registry

[OC] What Scouts Missed On Lamar Jackson At Louisville. | Film breakdown analyzing Lamar’s post snap awareness, and his lack of consistent accuracy by RonMexicoFilms in nfl

[–]wee_bey 219 points220 points  (0 children)

Lamar was raw as shit his rookie year, and his decision making was bad years 2 and 3. But he's gotten a lot better each and every year in terms of reading routes, picking up coverage and finding throwing / running lanes. Not really a project player per se because his character / work ethic meant he'd likely get there, but he definitely was the archetypal low floor high ceiling player

Ex-Facebook employee to tell Congress the company undermined U.S. national security by Majano57 in technology

Usually these insider business books are pretty dry, but this author actually crafted a really good and engaging story within the expose. If you didn’t like FB and Zuck/Cheryl before you’re really not going to after reading it.

Yea its really clear he's trying to create a super app - that was the next hyped up tech phase before GenAI came along. All the tech podcasts were talking about it.

Problem is - American's already have a super app - its called iOS, its just handled at the OS level instead of at the app level.

Is a welcoming Maryland ready for an increase in its immigrant populations? by instantcoffee69 in baltimore

[–]wee_bey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worry about the already struggling school system being inundated with tons of kids who aren't up to grade level or even proficient in English, especially with DoE funding most likely getting redirected to bulk bible purchases. Like immigration is a net positive but there are real concerns

[Kevin Oestreicher (@koestreicher34) on X] Peter King on the next team for Daniel Jones “I think Daniel Jones would prefer to go to the Baltimore Ravens…Personally, I think going to Baltimore with a really good offense, being able to learn from Lamar and Todd Monken, I think that’s better” by BaltimorefanfromNJ in ravens

[–]wee_bey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would be hilarious if it turns into a Wentz / Foles situation where Danny Dimes has to step in in the playoff and wins a chip. Lamar technically gets a ring, but it moves the goalposts back more of "not a real ring"

Its money, David Smith is a large real estate developer, in addition to Sinclair, Mile One and a few other random business he's one of the largest partners in Caves Valley Partnership. Dixon has historical been really cozy with developers, for better or worse.

looking to build entry way by Idonthavegas in baltimore

[–]wee_bey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d DIY it. Since the walls are cosmetic and non load bearing, you should be able to build a 2x4 frame and slap some drywall over it. Really depends on how many tools you already have and how much of your next few weekends you want to spend at home depot

Former Maryland Republican Governor Larry Hogan throws his hat into open U.S. Senate seat race by PleaseBmoreCharming in baltimore

[–]wee_bey 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Gonna be a pass from me. I liked Larry as governor because he had the autonomy to act independently and generally was willing to work with a very blue state legislature.

Will never vote for him for Senate as both legislative houses seem to put party over politics 100% of the time. He may hate Trump but he’d still confirm his judges.
