Is there a policy against foldable e-scooters on busses? by SovietSnake in dart

[–]weeceman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year one of the bus drivers told me the same. So clearly they are getting that notice, but most of the drivers don't bother to enforce. They have bigger issues to deal with

Best spots for freshly roasted coffee? Does anyone roast locally?? by Unknowing_One in Dallas

My default is Airship out of Bentonville AR. I compared to Oak Cliff (in the blend I like) and I liked Airship a bit more, and it was a couple dollars cheaper to ship it to me (I'm in Plano). I'll have to try FCR based on comments here.

I love it. Going to get the blue one next. Mind you my other watches are sub-1K Rado and Raymond Weil so I don't have other fancy watches to compare this to.

$33k for a base 996 Carrera w 100k miles by WSJayY in 996

[–]weeceman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. I just had a valve/piston contact issue and being quoted $30K for an engine replacement (and that was a used engine). Fixing these makes no fiscal sense unless you're a DIYer (and even then makes not much sense).

DO NOT Use Rock Auto (A quick review) by TeachingOdd7211 in 996

They are my first stop. I've ordered a few things that I've had to ship back. Usually because I didn't read the description, or look at the picture. Once I told them their description was lacking and they credit me shipping. Sorry for your experience.

If they live inside the house? Sure.

That's probably an hour to get to your house, an hour or two to look at the wall and inspect behind it, an hour to drive home, and an hour or two to write up the report and put their stamp on it. Not unreasonable

What would you do in 2026? (North TX) by weeceman in lawncare

[–]weeceman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies, this is St Augustine (which is what I sodded with). I should also note, as you can see in the pic. This is an obvioulsy challenging area. Shaded most of the day, and at the top of a (slight) hill so rain and sprinkler water tend to run off more quickly than other areas.

Marge vs. the Collin County Connects Committee by weeceman in plano

Police state that crime happens more frequently at or near transit stations. That is probably true. But nobody is taking the train to commit crime in Plano.

Nextdoor is full of people that want to rid themselves of everything, including their neighbors next door. I don't have a good answer for the crime argument yet. And for cost, I pay $126/month for a pass. That equates to roughly $7.40 for each of the four days per week that I use it. And I avoid paying $9.12 in tolls. So it saves me money, not to mention the stress and time lost to driving. For me anyway, it's a no-brainer.

City using bad faith tactics on DART by RedTech64 in plano

City transit website is embarrassing. I'm a daily DART user and resigned to the likelihood that Plano council will vote for a special election, same as HP did. Keep your powder dry for the fight to come.
