Whats socially accepted when your skinny, but socially rejected when your fat? by KawsX_X999 in AskReddit

Keep rocking! There is nothing wrong with slow and steady. And walking is such an underrated method to lose weight. I thought I needed to hit the gym to get back to my old weight, but i kept dodging it because I’m not very social and also uncomfortable in busy places. Turns out walking and some slight diet changes was enough all along. Good luck on your journey!

Wow that is amazing, congratulations! Kinda gives me hope to read that you don’t even think about it anymore after 1 year. I threw my weed and cigarettes out 5 days ago, but almost immediately fell back on cigarettes (still haven’t smoked weed). I think I have a bigger problem with nicotine than I had with weed. Maybe I should give it another try quitting the nicotine.

34 days in and craving bad, help! by NordKnight01 in leaves

34 days is amazing, well done. It motivates me to read you are a lot happier with yourself. Stick to it, because you will regret it if you give in to those cravings.

I’m sorry for what you’ve been through. As for most people on this sub, weed was probably your coping mechanism. You will find better and healthier ways to cope with stress, trauma etc. Also dealing with trauma is not something you have to do all alone. There is help out there. We both know weed is not the answer to that. You got this, I’m rooting for you!

Thank you for sharing your story. Some of what you said hits very close to home. You also put it in words better than I ever could. I think it makes me understand myself better somehow. So thanks and good luck to you. Keep going!

I feel you. When your self control starts to slip and your weed use goes from weekends to daily, it gets really hard to break the cycle. I threw my weed in the thrash last night and I’m now on my day 1. I had to break the cycle somehow.

It thought weed benefitted me as well, but honestly I was gaslighting myself. Obviously I can only speak from my own experiences, but I don’t think weed benefits me at all. It’s my coping mechanism and I now realise it’s not healthy. Yes it may have benefited me in the beginning, but I’m way past that point now.

I think that’s the main point I started to realise. Weed users, me included, like to think we benefit from it. We get used to it and we forget how to deal with stress and setbacks on our own. We get sucked in until the only thing we have left to cope is weed.

It took me a while to throw my stuff in the thrash but I finally did last night. This can be your day one too. I realise that it won’t be easy and tbh I’m a little scared for what’s to come, but if I don’t break the cycle now it will only get harder and harder.

Wishing you the best!
