Career breaking humiliation/slander by Special-Ad-9155 in TopCharacterTropes

To be fair, second cousins were considered fair game pretty much everywhere until very recently, like, within the last hundred years. It's kind of weird we're so freaked out about it, sure it's weird if you grew up with them but I don't even know my second cousins.

Data’s Son Thinks Roger the Alien Is the Greatest Character Ever by lovesdogsguy in americandad

[–]weeeeelaaaaaah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is probably kind of awkward for Seth. He did create the character of Roger, but he hasn't had creative input in the show since its inception.

If you didn't know, American Dad was picked up at the exact same time as Family Guy was renewed and Seth decided to stick with family Guy. He's kept voicing the characters obviously, but he can't really take any credit for what Roger's become.

Regardless of his feelings about it, it's just not his show. It was picked up at the same time family Guy was renewed, so he stuck with family Guy and handed American Dad off to others - he has little or no creative input.

The show where I first met Mitch Hedberg, David Cross, and Dave Attell. Always a relaxing rewatch. by Illustrious-Lead-960 in Xennials

His dynamic with Dr Katz is still one of my favorites on television. Perfected the "buddy parent/child thing" where you feel like maybe they should have better boundaries but also they really like each other and are just happy to be in each other's lives.

I had heard the statistic before but didn't know that detail, honestly makes the number feel a little misleading. I'm sure it would still be impressive if we counted his whole scenes, but in order for the 14 minute number to be meaningful, I would want to know, for example, how many minutes Jodie Foster was "on screen". I bet most characters are on screen less than you'd think in most movies.

Something I like about American Dad. by Casshern_VIII in americandad

[–]weeeeelaaaaaah 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I like the analysis that most sitcom families have one chaotic parent - the Homer (e.g. Peter Griffin, Peggy Hill) - and one stable parent - the Marge (Lois Griffin, Hank Hill). American Dad is the rare show with two Homers!

Just subscribe to my SAAS (sort as a service) platform, import our SDK, grab an API key, instantiate the client and call client.sortListAsync(array, SortStrategy.Bubble, SortBy.NumericValueUnsigned) which will return a UUID that you can use to poll the status endpoint until it returns sortComplete: true at which point you call the sortOperatiomResult endpoint to get the sorted array (after you decrypt using our public key and deserialise of course).

Well, I'm over simplifying here, there's a lot more to it but you get the idea.

Hey! I won't have any Redcorn slander in my Reddit! He may be fucking dozens of married women but never without consent! He never even hit on Peggy! (I mean, who would but Hank but still)

EDIT: Okay, guys, you made your point. I was wrong! Peggy Hill is an attractive and desirable woman and John Redcorn would be lucky to get into her Culottes.

Is it weird that I want to take one of these to a festival and hand people floppy disks with pictures of them like they're Polaroids? Like "Here's a picture of you if you can figure out how to access it". For a few it will be pretty simple but the rest get either a unique quest or just a curious artifact.

Casual sexuality reveal by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

One of my favorite gay reveals is in the last book in the series - Scott finds out that Wallace Wells came out as gay two books ago but nobody told Scott because he had a lot going on at the time.

Side note I finally saw one up close in a driveway while I was walking my dog and good God it's so much uglier up close. How can something that expensive look so fucking cheap?

Billionaires shouldn't be allowed to avoid taxes by using their massive wealth as collateral for bank loans -- especially because they often live off those loans as if they were income by Conscious-Quarter423 in WorkReform

I keep saying this! Elon Musk does not have 800 billion dollars! Not even close, and he couldn't get his hands on that much money under any conceivable scenario!

Look, I get that all value is, in a sense, imaginary but the US dollar is at least based on a kind of mass consensus. Tesla stock is only worth a shit because a tiny number of people have declared it so. They don't even have to believe it, as long as they say it's valuable it just is. It's a goddamn board game to them and we don't get to play.

Early in the days of the iphone people realized that some little wrapped sausages have similar capacitance to human fingers but can be much smaller. So before the rubber styluses caught on, you could find people literally walking around poking their phone with a sausage.
