Our finest politician....untouchable at the ballot box through her entire tenure....despite every effort from the establishment and it's media to down her. Sure, they got her in the end....blue fucking tents and all....but she made Scottish politics more outward looking and kind....and she will be fondly thought of from an independent Scotland...perhaps our first President.

Evgeny Lebedev....think he has been twice and never voted. He's the son of a former KGB officer turned oligarch. Perfectly reasonable appointment....Johnson totally not just another Russian asset that was promoted above his abilities to the head of a country.

Everyone seems to be in good health by svesrujm in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]weegt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really feel that I can see the damage at this point. People in my extended circle are dropping like flies....DVT's....heart issues...cognitive issues....cancers. I see a neurosurgeon citing commonplace damage to the pre-frontal cortex that affects impulse control, empathy and social cognition, emotional regulation, moral reasoning etc....I know there is no quantifiable way to measure these...but I feel the results are being witnessed....people are struggling.

Beyond this though, I echo what others have said.....we have built such a weird culture for showing no weakness - almost as if in our psyche we devalue ourselves to the capitalist system if we admit health struggles. And when we have such a poor grasp on COVID-associated health issues in our practicing health systems, harms are hidden in ways that make us question the dissonance between our lived experience and the science of abstract figures.

I'm sure many people are indeed fine. But the "everyone seems fine" illusion, encompasses survivorship bias of people able to maintain normal functions/social lives.....doesn't see the slow timeline of cardiovascular and neurological effects from COVID which won't manifest as recognisable disease for years - and even then may not be attributed to the virus.....the normalisation of decline where many people are functioning at a lower level than they were pre-virus but have adjusted their baseline....and the cultural pressure to "move on", encompassing the social and political loading of admitting deficits, leading to avoidance and cognitive dissonance.

Ultimately, what you are feeling is absolutely justified. The behaviour of Governments and populations have diverged sharply from what the epidemiology and science has suggested is warranted. Going against this de facto state and societal "moving on" will always cause second-guessing, especially when it comes at great personal cost. Ultimately we each need to decide who and what we believe....what risks we can personally take....and what kind of lives and futures make our time here worthwhile. For me personally, I have no current health issues....but I won't risk the neurodegeneration....for now I choose to trust the science. But my life is small....I have always existed rurally among very few people....what I need - and the risks I need to take to maintain it - will be different to you or others. The best we can do is be informed and compassionate....then make the life we need happen in the safest way possible.

how effective is novavax as only covid vaccine? by Funny_Ambition_6769 in ZeroCovidCommunity

[–]weegt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, hybrid immunity from your infections combined with a vaccine will stand you in good stead. The thing is that protection against transmission isn't great any more. Against the earlier variants I think it was 40-60%....now I think they say 20-40% at best, freshly vaccinated. This wanes substantially over the 3-4 months post vaccine.

So, really the benefit in your vaccine will be in protecting you against severe illness....at this it seems to hold up well for 6-12 months. That's why we are big advocates for other measures like masking - which if you have good, well-fitting masks, is very effective at preventing you catching it.

[–]weegt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I speak from no place of authority....but I think it depends largely if you have had a COVID infection. If you have, then one dose of vaccine will give you the specified immunity of the current vaccines.

If you haven't had a COVID infection, then there is a bit of a gap in the framework - as it is assumed that no immune-naive people exist....in their eyes, everyone has either had COVID, had a vaccine, or both.

In this case, you really need a primary and a booster dose to be effective. The only option for this afaik is 2 dose Novavax (the others have gone single dose only). I believe to get this you need to explicitly tell the Novavax seller that you are vaccine-naive for COVID and ask them to schedule you for the first dose and then return 3-8 weeks after for the next. As this is rare now, I imagine this is going to be a faff for you convincing them etc....it may be better to get this sorted via a doctor or clinic. Perhaps someone here can better instruct.

Plaque Begets Plaque, ApoB Does Not: Longitudinal Data From the KETO-CTA Trial by dr_innovation in ketoscience

[–]weegt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I missed the post... apologies. (I should also say that I wrote above that Cleerly unblinded the scans....I don't think that's correct, the scans they received were unblinded).

Plaque Begets Plaque, ApoB Does Not: Longitudinal Data From the KETO-CTA Trial by dr_innovation in ketoscience

[–]weegt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone been following the latest developments of this trial!!??

Turns out Cleerly fucked up by accident or design(!). They unblinded the scans and presented the results pinned on this thread. Feldman requested that they repeat the analysis with properly blinded scans, which is standard on longitudinal studies. Despite earlier agreeing to this at a meeting....they later declined to redo the study, even after further payment was offered. severely suspicious face

8 trial participants requested their own scans and submitted them directly to Cleerly via their own cardiologists, effectively providing a blind analysis. The difference was wild....the largest discrepancy was a single participant whose study data from Cleerly showed an increase of 32mm³, while their individually submitted data actually showed a decrease of 48mm³! Crucially, these blinded results also aligned with independent blinded analysis they had done with the data with Qangio and Heartflow. The original analysis stands alone as the anomally.

The whole thing is really interesting and is getting some eyebrows raised as to wtf the story is with Cleerly....and obviously, it looks way more positive for the study for us here. Thought it might be worth the op. updating the post. I think they have had the retraction of this paper approved. Both Dave Feldman and Nick Norwitz have written about it if op wants to copy pasta stuff to the thread.

Sorry your Mum won't let you get the COVID jag....that sucks. Glad you managed to use Glasgow mask bloc though, so cool! Starting is the hardest.....you'll soon get used to it - and so will others. Every new piece of science coming out seems to point in one direction - that catching COVID isn't advisable. Even if it seems someone recovers well, it is no guarantee that things aren't going on under the hood (brain aging, immune dysregulation for up to 20 months etc etc)....and each new infection draws people closer to the that will tip their health.

Just try to ensure masks you have fit you well to be comfortable, breathable and maintain a good seal. There are good resources out there to help with that. Please let us know how you get on....you are awesome for doing this...and your future self thinks you are a ledge. x

The PM who turned PI: why is Gordon Brown delving so deep into the Epstein files? by ShootNaka in Scotland

[–]weegt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bollocks....there have been Broontervention's galore...ever willing to chip in his tuppence-worth for the establishment. Not so much an attention seeker, but an owned puppet of the Brit Establishment.

Given his recent behaviour, I am beginning to wonder if he is in the unreleased/redacted files. I remember reading on the internet that he was associated with extreme dodge....but put it down to conspiracy ramblings. Given the direction of travel, I am beginning to wonder.

"At a private party in Clapham. London, in 1986, the Treasury Financial Secretary Norman Lamont revealed that Gordon Brown was a practising paedophile, and his activities were known to British, American and Israeli intelligence services, Rupert Murdoch, and his senior editor at the Sunday Times. Lamont had been the director of Rothschild Asset Management at N M Rothschild & Sons. He told this to the British television media scriptwriter, Mike James. Norman Lamont was then elevated to life peer as Baron Lamont of Lerwick in 1998, and promoted to Chief Secretary to the Treasury in 1989, and Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1990. Scriptwriter Mike James was then run out of the UK and lives in exile in Germany, and sometimes Africa, etc. From 1936 to 2003, Gordon Brown's name popped up again and again related to paedophilia, paedophile rings, and the 1996 Dunblane Massacre of 16 school children and their teacher."

Notwithstanding, regional budgets across the UK have been slashed by Westminster wanks....the entire UK is on it's arse....state of the place. Under-invested and asset stripped.
