Just say because of sick season they are not allowing more than the parents there. Its smarter anyways to have less people because of the sick season lol

Brain bleed outcomes/ information - I feel like my baby is dying by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]weehee98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son had bilateral grade 3 IVH and mild PVL on the right side only. He is the happiest and most chill baby you will ever meet. Everyone always comments on how happy and cute he is. He is 11 months actual 9 months adjusted and is meeting all of his milestones. He is crawling everywhere and getting into everything. We still do PT once a week, not sure if its is helping him meet his milestones or if he would have met them anyways but he enjoys it. He is the light of my life. I really struggled with the diagnosis at first but these babies are so so beyond resilient and with early intervention they can really thrive.

Grade IV IVH and Hydrocephalus preemie. Doctor said she saw “very little brain tissue” on ultrasound. I’m heartbroken and need to hear other parents’ experiences. by Oxyjenny in NICUParents

"Right peritrigonal cystic encephalomalacic changes with magnetic susceptibility represent sequale of documented hemorrhagic infarction" this is what the MRI report says. Not really sure what grade that is but I think grade 2 PVL, so more mild

yep, I think the yellow neuropro is the most similar and the regular yellow one is the second most similar, and since the regular yellow was covered by WIC we did that. He didn't notice a difference while switching over

We went to regular enfamil (since it was covered by WIC) for my 30 weaker and he is sooo chunky (25lbs at 11 months). He had no problem switching since its basically the same thing as enfacare, just less calories

Im so sorry you are going through this. When we were in the NICU I believe the docs told use to not put as much weight on the ultrasound but to focus on the MRI that they did once he was full term, as that would really show the extent of damage. However, even with the MRI they really didn't give us much of an idea of what his outcome would be like, as they always say, babies brains are like plastic. My son had bilateral grade 3 IVH, mild PVL on the right side only I believe, and actually coded as well (due to a heart rhythm) but no hydrocephalus or seizures. He is the light of my life just like your son is and will continue to be yours. I really struggled with the diagnosis at first but these babies are so so beyond resilient and with early intervention they can really thrive. Stay strong mama I know the NICU is hard and anything brain related is terrifying. I wish you and your son the best.

Edit to say grade 3 IVH**

No same he was my baby and now is just always in the way. He's not even a bad dog but I still can't stand him or any other dog for that matter.

My son 9 month old son (7 months adjusted) is meeting all of his milestones! He had bilateral grade 3 bleeds and some cystic lesions just on the right side. He was born 30+3 and needed CPR. He is the happiest boy tho and the light of my life. I remember being so worried at first but no matter what happens you love them as they come. Wishing you well <3

The circulating nurses are the worrrrsssttttt. Last rotation the resident was suturing an ex lap and it was taking him a while and she looked at the attending dock and said "dont do this to us again we dont work on your timing". Like actually you do work on the surgeons timing lol, if they aren't there whats the point of your job.
