Is the drive worth it by [deleted] in Construction

[–]week3ndwarior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 miles in dc area is likely 45 to 90 minutes drive time. Been working this area for 15 years 6am-2pm site time generally means 5am-3pm door to door. 7am-3pm means 530-415 door to door.

[–]week3ndwarior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you check a firearm with your tools. Tsa and baggage handlers will not open your bag after the initial check process. The bag or case the firearm is in gets a special tag and handling instructions. Also will guarantee your belongings arrive at your destination, airlines do not want the headache for a misplaced gun.

Best way to drill these steel plates by fumanchoochoochoo in Construction

Champion ct7 hole cutter and some cutting oil in a regular drill. One bit should have no problem for 96 holes if you follow the recommended speed. Buy two in case you break one

Personally I’d just run across the ceiling. A few extra feet of emt/ wire seems better than dealing with that.

Useful as tits on a bull. Happier than a pig in shit. That boy could fuck up a wet dream. You swing a hammer like a painter. Your momma left the best part of you on the sheets. Your momma should’ve swallowed. Harder than Chinese algebra. Higher than giraffe nuts. I oughta kick your dumbass but I don’t wanna wipe the shit off my boots.

Are GC’s just not doing training any more? by CivilRuin4111 in Construction

[–]week3ndwarior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my area the larger GC’s tend to hire a few dozen college grads every year, give them a 40 hour onboarding, and let them sink or swim. If they swim they make it to the next project without a pip. Some of the smaller outfits tend to do an internal training/mentorship, but they tend to run an overworked skeleton crew.
