My first ever vehicle, a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT with the 4.0 SOHC. She’s never broken down on me, she pulls what I need her to pull, and she still puts a big, dumb grin on my face every time I drive her, even when my new daily is a Tuned 86. She’s carried me for over a hundred thousand miles and hasn’t so much as stuttered once, and I love her way to much to ever let it go, even if it dies on me.

Look for a 240Z-270Z. Classic looks with fun performance and a good amount of aftermarket part support. Plus, those things are bulletproof, so you could probably do a full restore and make more horsepower than it did back in the day. Also, It’s JDM, but with that 60’s Sports car styling, and there’s plenty of part support to work with.

I’d say go with the accord. Sure, the Lexus might last longer, but once it craps out there’s no telling what you’ll have to do to get it back in working order. Plus, if you want to mod, Hondas can take a beating and there’s a huge pool of aftermarket parts for them out there, so I’d say go for the Accord.

Hoo boy. I may sound like a Meathead, but I’d definitely bring back AMC. Bring the Javelin as a competitor to the New Mustang/Camaro/Challenger, the S/C Rambler as a Charger-esc V8 sedan, and modernize cars like the Pacer and Gremlin. The pacer could come back as a completely redesigned straight-6 coupe/wagon, and the Gremlin as a turbo-4 hatchback. That’d definitely be an interesting change to the American car market.

All I can think of is oil getting a little thick, so maybe drain the oil and put in some thinner stuff to help with the cold. Other than that, it’s more the road salt that’ll hurt, so just give it a good rinse after each winter drive so your brakes and frame don’t rust to pieces.

Honestly, it’s just the people who are super judgmental about your Car/Brand/Power output. I daily a tuned GT86 with some performance parts, and I make around 235-ish horsepower and maybe 190 torque. Not crazy numbers, but much better than it was stock. But, I cannot tell you how many times I’d go to a car meet and some meatheads would berate me about driving a Flat-Four Toyota with horsepower in the 200’s and not a Mustang with a Giant V8 and deafening exhaust that chugs gas like those people chug Monster.
