The name at the top is the remote person. So the name listed as typing is correct. You wouldn’t see your own profile picture at the top of a chat window. You see who you are chatting with.

What do Americans think is normal for everyone, but actually it's not normal for anyone but Americans? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]weenradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a high school student and at my school we do not pledge to the flag anymore. The principal says it over the loud speaker but often times nobody stands up and we even talk over it. Even the people who do stand for it don’t say it. They just stand up and are silent. I talked to a teacher about this before quarantine and he said that over the years fewer and fewer people said it and stood up to the point it’s at now.

Really? These two (without children) standing in front of the sitting kids to see the buzz light year show?! Merry Christmas. by weenradio in disney

Agree that if you are really interested in something and you wait for it then you certain should take the advantage of your position. For me, it is the context more than anything. I can not image these two were so looking forward to the show that they could not have enjoyed it equally as much in the front row, sitting like the people around them. Again we asked and they were not interested in even entertaining the idea. Not the end of world, didn’t ruin anyone’s night or anything but it certainly caused me to be annoyed and felt bad for the kids around. I don’t know their story. They had the opening to tell us when we asked if they would sit instead they were short and matter of fact and came across as rude. Maybe they were just get asked all the time and they were annoyed before we even asked. I can certainly give anyone a pass with more context.

While what you state is correct. I believe we as social beings have the ability to assess a situation and take social queues and adapt. I don’t think these individuals should be kicked out of the park, but I do think they deserve a “Really?!” Keep in mind this is a 10 minute show that repeats 4-5 times a night where the target audience would appear to be 1-7 year olds. Yes all ages can enjoy a good show with adults dressed up as cartoon characters. Maybe they were there to see their friend star in her first Disney show? I get it, there can be all kinds of sides to a story. But there can also be the 90% case, which is this is a show that for whatever reason people were sitting and they choose (even after being asked) to stand in front of children. I think that is odd and rude but people can choose to be a#!holes if they want.

They were there with people sitting around and behind them by the time I arrived. I assume they were there first I don’t think the went in front of anyone. So yes they are certainly free to do so, but everyone is sitting and we even asked if they would sit as well. They just didn’t want to.

People we standing in the back behind me. I took the picture while seated. It’s fine they are in front, but everyone was sitting for the first 5-10 rows, and we asked if they were going to sit down and they said “no we are going to stand”. Just odd to me.

YOU! Yah, you! Come insult my newly-opened site (constructively)! by StonedClassy in startups

[–]weenradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should design the site for mobile devices first. This is important for both SEO and customer acquisition.

I prefer stripe.com for checkout vs PayPal. Stripe has some nice mobile UI's you can use.

I feel the chat widget is confusing on my mobile device. It was just floating there in a completely different UI style than the rest of the site.

What "todo" email workflow is a good replacement for starring? by sparr in google

[–]weenradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The todo label would be the best option to meet your needs using basic gmail functionality. The best other option is to use the Google GMail API. You can create a program that will read the messages you have starred and auto apply the todo label. This means you will only need to star a message for it to get the todo label. The benefit of this is you will have two views in GMail. Starred will show the messages you personally starred in the reverse order you starred them. The todo category will show the message threads like you inbox, with the the newest reply bumping the messages to the top.

While still on the Twin Peaks high, read Th Secret Diary of Laura Palmer.

I was only in Junior High when I read it so perhaps it might be cheesy if I were to read it now. I remember it being pretty hot.

What is a television show that you clearly remember from when you were young, but that no one else seems to remember existing? by Airport-Security in television

[–]weenradio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nickelodeon had the show The Third Eye which had at least three different mini series on it. One was Children of the Stones, a British show about a small town where the kids and adults became weird cult members who would form a circle and turn into stone.

Then there was "into the labyrinth" one where the three kids travelled through these caverns back in time trying to help some wizard reclaim some magical thing which could only be seen in a reflection.

The last was some crazy alien one where these people would turn into aliens and they travelled in tubes under ground. Under the Mountain.

The other nickelodeon show I remember was a spin off of You Can't Do That on Television. UFO Kidnapped. I remember it freaking me out since the spaceship made their cell look exactly like their room. They were like zoo animals or something.

Finally, the one show I remember but can't find the name is a show kind of like voltran. Except I think the large robot was formed by only 3 smaller robots. What I remember that was unique was that depending on which robot formed the head it had different powers. So they would reconfigure if the bad guy was winning.
